NAVI Acquires Ukrainian Player to Complete CS:GO Roster for BLAST Spring Finals
NAVI is set and ready to complete in Lisbon.
Natus Vincere (NAVI) has announced its CS:GO roster for the upcoming BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2022. The Ukrainian organization has chosen Viktor "sdy" Orudzhev as its fifth player to complete the lineup, acquiring him as a stand-in on a free loan from MAD Lions.
This will be the first time that sdy will be competing along with a top-tier, well-established team, having previously played with Team Spirit and MAD Lions.
The 25-year-old is quite experienced and comes into the team as a replacement for Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhaylov. At this point in time it is unclear who will be acting as the IGL, high possibility that NAVI hand the reigns over to Denis “electroNic” Sharipov as previously stated by Alexey "xaoc" Kucherov - COO of NAVI.
NAVI takes sdy on loan from MAD Lions to complete CS:GO roster for BLAST Premier: Spring Finals
After dismissing rumors about signing Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis over from Virtus.pro and revealing that they were keeping a close eye on his teammate Timur "buster" Tulepov, NAVI has gone ahead to temporarily sign sdy on a free loan from MAD Lions.
With this, NAVI can go ahead and start practicing properly for the upcoming BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2022 which is scheduled to take place from 15th to 19th June.
This is a huge opportunity for the Ukrainian rifler who has been finally taken off MAD Lion's bench. Though he has been signed as a stand-in for now, NAVI has stated that sdy's future with the organization depends on his performance in the upcoming tournament.
Last year, sdy had managed to attain an overall HLTV rating of 1.07 along with an impact rating of 0.97, apart from this he has also competed in three CS:GO Majors so far in his career with Team Spirit.
In a personal statement, sdy thanked NAVI for providing him with a chance to prove himself, "I will be on loan for NAVI in BLAST and maybe more. That's a huge opportunity that I will try to use in the best way. Let's make Ukraine proud."
This decision by NAVI seems to be inline with something that xaoc had recently said during a Russian podcast, "We are trying to take more Ukrainian players into our squads. Although this is not visible from the proportions, one must understand in general the proportions between the Ukrainian audience and the Russian one. Because the proportions are basically 4:1 for both the audience and the players.”
With an abundance of experience and international exposure under his belt, sdy could be a great addition to the Ukrainian side if he is able to build good chemistry with other team members and find his rhythm.
The new NAVI roster will be seen in action on 15th June at 20:30 IST as they take on OG in the opening match of Group-B, the latter will also be competing with a revamped lineup which will make for an interesting bout.
