A total of four teams will be competing in the APAC RMR from all the sub-regions, but only two will qualify for the IEM Rio Major 2022.

All the regional open qualifiers and the subsequent closed qualifier for the IEM Road to Rio 2022: APAC RMR (Regional Major Ranking) has concluded with the final four teams making it through to the Major qualifier.

The qualified teams belong to the four different sub-regions within APAC (Asia-Pacific) - Asia, China, Middle East, and Oceania. From here on out only the top two teams will progress to the IEM Rio Major 2022.

All matches for the APAC RMR will be played in an offline format from 7th to 9th October in Melbourne, Australia as part of the PAX Aus 2022, which is an annual esports and gaming festival.

The APAC RMR is one of the three regions for which this tournament is taking place alongside America and Europe. Here is everything you need to know about this tournament which acts as a qualifier for the IEM Rio Major 2022.

Out of the four teams participating in the APAC RMR, none of them have received a direct invite and all the shortlisted teams will be fighting their way through the regional open and closed qualifiers.

Schedule

The APAC RMR is scheduled to take place from 7th to 9th October as a LAN tournament in Melbourne, Australia. It will be hosted as part of the PAX Aus which is the biggest annual gaming event that takes place in the country.

Format

The APAC RMR will be following a simple and straightforward double-elimination format consisting of just four teams.

All the matches will be following a best-of-three series at all stages of the tournament.

The top two teams will directly qualify for the IEM Rio Major while the bottom two teams will be eliminated.

The slot distribution for APAC RMR is as follows,

  • 1st - Contender Status

  • 2nd - Contender Status

This is the first CS:GO Major ever to take place in Brazil and is scheduled to take place from 31st October to 13th November in the Jeunesse Arena, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The tickets for the event have already been sold out.
