Team Spirit had done extremely well by reaching the semifinals of the recently concluded PGL Antwerp Major 2022. Hence, it came as a big shock when the Russian esports organization decided to part ways with its star player, degster, due to 'non-game factors' including not being able to meet the organization's demand of staying in Serbia long-term due to personal reasons.

In a post-match interview at BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2022, degster, when asked about the situation, went on to state that he never said anything about not wanting to relocate out of Russia. In his situation regarding Team Spirit, he had informed the organization that it was not possible for him to relocate to Serbia in June, but they wanted him to move quickly and that is why he decided to leave the team.

"I did not have time and I would not have felt comfortable if I left right now, Russia, my home, a lot of other stuff that I hadn't touched in the last three months. That is why I left," said degster.
