Brazilian CS:GO streamer Gaules seems to be the face of Twitch for the month of May, having beaten personalities like xQc, Asmongold, Tyler, and more.
His channel has become the most-watched Twitch channel for the month of May, all thanks to the huge success of the PGL Antwerp Major 2022.
Gaules clocked a cumulative of more than 28 million hours watched in the month of May after having streamed for a staggering 741 hours.

The recently concluded PGL Antwerp Major 2022 was not able to overtake the Stockholm Major in terms of viewership metrics. However, it was still a massively successful tournament featuring the second most viewed match in the history of CS:GO.

It also witnessed the strength of the Brazilian community, who came in large numbers mostly through the official regional Twitch stream being hosted by Alexandre "Gaules" Borba. His livestream peaked at 707,648 concurrent viewers during the faceoff between Imperial Esports and Cloud9, setting an all time new record for Portuguese-language Twitch streams.

Now, Gaules has become the most-watched Twitch streamer for the month of May, garnering a total of 28.83 million hours watched after having streamed for a staggering 741 hours, as per a report by Streams Charts.

Brazilian CS:GO streamer Gaules continues to dominate Twitch on the back off PGL Antwerp Major 2022

Gaules seems to be the face of Twitch for the month of May and this success can be largely contributed to the PGL Antwerp Major 2022 which ran from 9th to 22nd May.

During the course of this tournament, Gaules clocked a collective watch time of around 18.4 million hours, becoming the most successful official broadcast channel ahead of both PGL and Steam by a significant margin.

By hitting a peak of roughly 708,000 concurrent viewers during the faceoff between Imperial Esports and Cloud9, Gaules not only became the top Portuguese-language Twitch streamer but was also ranked tenth amongst the channels with the most viewers on Twitch, which is a huge achievement for any content creator on the platform.

After already having achieved so much, Gaules has now become the most watched Twitch channel for the month of May, clocking a total watch time of around 28.83 million hours which is an increment of 76% when compared to his statistics from April.

Though a thing to note here is that the total stream time of Gaules is much higher than others ranked against him, an astounding 741 hours, which is two and three times more in comparison to second-ranked xQc and third-ranked Asmongold respectively.

With the second CS:GO Major all set to take place in Brazil, IEM Rio Major 2022, there is a huge chance that these viewership numbers might get dwarfed considering that the tickets for the tournament were sold out within an hour of going live.
