Autimatic Leaves Valorant and Returns to CS:GO With Evil Geniuses
Return rate of CS:GO veterans continues to increase!
Another former CS:GO professional who had switched to Valorant, in February of last year, has quit the game and returned to the Valve shooter, as Timothy "autimatic" Ta joins Evil Geniuses (EG).
The 25-year-old after a mediocre run through 2020 along with Gen.G Esports had decided to retire and pursue a career in Valorant along with T1. Unfortunately, despite having a stacked roster that looked good on paper autimatic along with the team had a rough time competing in Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) 2021.
With CS:GO teams undergoing a massive shuffle for the 2022 season, autimatic saw it as an opportunity to return to his "first love" and is excited for this new chapter in his life.
Autimatic retires from Valorant to join EG's CS:GO roster
The announcement comes just a day after Evil Geniuses unveiled Jacky "Stewie2K" Yip as the IGL (In-Game Leader) of its revamped lineup. With autimatic joining this team, the former Cloud9 Major winning duo has united once again under the banner of a North American esports organization.
Both Stewie2K and autimatic were a part of the ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018 winning roster, the only North American team and lineup to have won a CS:GO Major tournament. This could have been one of the reasons why EG wanted them as part of its new lineup for the 2022 competitive season.
Interestingly, the lineup teased via a series of not so cryptic tweets, by Nicole LaPointe Jameson - CEO of Evil Geniuses, has turned out to be true so far with just one more player left to be announced.
So the final player to complete the team could potentially be William "RUSH" Wierzba, who was also a part of the Major winning roster. This means that EG could end up signing more than half of the former Cloud9 roster.
As revealed by Stewie2K, the team is currently bootcamping in Europe for the upcoming BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2022, where they will be going up against Team Vitality on 30th January 2022.
