  • Xeppaa has been signed as a replacement for woxic for three years in a contract worth $432,000 USD.

The North American esports organization Cloud9 has completed their ‘Colossus’ as they sign former Chaos Esports Club rifler Erick "Xeppaa" Bach. The 20-year-old will be effectively replacing the Turkish powerhouse Ozgur "woxic" Eker whose $1.3 million contract was terminated on 19 Jan.

The speculated move has turned into reality as Cloud9 has completed their CS:GO lineup with the addition of Xeppaa. The former Chaos Esports Club rifler was one of the breakout talents of 2020, capitalizing on the opportunity to showcase his talent in the absence of heavy competition within the North American region.

Xeppaa played a lot of competitive CS:GO last year, performing well in both Tier-1 and Tier-2 tournaments. The start was slow but over time he went on to dominate the North American Tier-2 circuit along with Chaos, this translated into huge victories at Tier-1 tournaments like IEM Beijing 2020: North America and DreamHack Masters Winter 2020: North America towards the end of the year.

His impressive performance last year has caught Cloud9’s attention who have signed him for three years in a deal worth $432,000 USD which has a potential bonus added to it that can take the total up to $540,000.

Cloud9's hyped CS:GO rebuild to once again rank amongst the best teams in the world has failed to takeoff. Their CS:GO lineup dubbed as 'The C9 Colossus’ after an early exit from Flashpoint Season 2, which their captain Alex "ALEX" McMeekin has promised to win, went on to lose three more tournaments on the trot. Their worst defeat was registered at a Tier-2 tournament - Nine to Five #7, where they attained a disappointing 3rd-4th placement.

To start things off on a better note and climb up the ladder, Cloud9 has made a few changes like dropping Aleksandar “kassad” Trifunovic as their coach and replacing woxic with Xeppaa. It will be interesting to see how this new lineup performs this season. Also, with the slot of a head coach still open the community is hopeful that maybe rumours about Chris "Elmapuddy" Tebbit joining Cloud9 could be a possibility.
