- CSPPA urges TO's to utilise the 'Event Minimum Standards' created by the organization.
- The guidelines clearly state that a team should get at least a three-hour break between two consecutive matches.
- CSPPA speaks out on the matter after Snappi complains about a recent incident involving poor team break management.
The Counter-Strike Professional Players’ Association (CSPPA) recently spoke about the minimum standards that a CS:GO tournament should follow when it comes to team break between matches. The following statement was made after Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer spoke about how his team was forced to play consecutive matches with just a 10-minute break inbetween them.
CSPPA On Break Between Matches
CSPPA recently made a Tweet in support of Snappi stating that the ‘CSPPA Event Minimum Standards’ which is followed by several tournament organizers specifically states that “If a team is scheduled to play 2 best-of-three games in one day the tournament organizer shall ensure that the players have a break of minimum three hours between the end of the first BO3 and the start of the second BO3.”
They urged all tournament organizers to adopt this rule and avoid situations like the one that transpired with Snappi’s team c0ntact Gaming.
Snappi had earlier revealed that after his team was done playing a best-of-three series that lasted around 4 hours and 15 minutes, they were given just a 10-minute break after they were done with the veto of the next match. Snappi while tagging CSPPA states that “We were forced to go live despite having an ill player.”
And as a matter of fact, Snappi’s team is not the only one that has faced a situation which is clearly within the concept of ‘Player Burnout’ and ‘Insane Schedule’ as Nicolai "HUNDEN" Petersen who is the coach of Danish esports organization Heroic also came forward to state that “We had the same issue yesterday, between our games. That was clearly not okay.”
CSPPA has a whole set of rules on their website called ‘Event Minimum Standards’ which was made earlier this year on 12th January and published on 18th May. The organization has always strived to achieve what is best for the players and are urging all the CS:GO tournament organizers to follow these set of rules that they have come up with.
CSPPA Reported Partnership
A few days back on 22nd June a report suggested that CSPPA was in talks with FLASHPOINT to sign a three-year-long partnership agreement to ensure “Improved working conditions for players from partner teams.”
Along with this, there was a separate commercial agreement as well which would observe “Flashpoint providing an undisclosed amount of funding towards the CSPPA.”

Earlier today CSPPA tweeted about how they had received several complaints from members of Tier 2 and Tier 3 teams on how important it is for them to also get a break. Hence urging all tournament organizers to consider the player break seriously as “CSPPA continue to enforce the tournament break regardless of tiers.”
The upcoming summer player break will be from 6th July to 6th August while the winter player break will be taking place from 21st December 2020 to 17th January 2021.
