The global Coronavirus outbreak was the reason behind Na’Vi lifting the trophy in front of an empty Spodek Arena in Katowice, and though it might have been disheartening for all the attendees to not have been able to attend the event, it was the right thing to do.
The CSPPA has also taken notice of the growing concerns related to “player health and safety” as they have started discussions with “players as well as ESL, Flashpoint and other TO’s regarding the coronavirus”.
What the CSPPA discussed with the tournament organizers has still not been disclosed yet. The first season of FLASHPOINT is set to take place this month at the FACEIT Studio in Los Angeles, USA and with Coronavirus already having entered America, player health should be taking the top priority.
Other upcoming tournaments include ESL One: Rio 2020, BLAST Premier: Spring 2020 Showdown and BLAST Premier: Spring 2020 Finals which will be taking place in Brazil, London, and Moscow, respectively.
Let’s see what the outcome of CSPPA’s discussion with the various tournament organizers is, how does it impact the upcoming tournaments and if it restricts any player or team from participating in any of these upcoming events.
