The IEM Rio Major 2022 is less than a week away and Valve has already released all items related to the tournament including the Rio 2022 Viewer Pass which consists of the community favorite Pick'Em Challenge.

For the upcoming Challengers Stage of the Rio Major, CS:GO players, talents, and personalities have already started to discuss and share their lock ins and their Pick'Em predictions.

However, before you go ahead finalizing your picks, here is a quick overview of what exactly is the Pick'Em Challenge, how you can ensure a Diamond Event Coin, and also obtain all the three free Souvenir Tokens in the process.

Pick'Em Challenge guide for the IEM Rio Major 2022

Every CS:GO Major Viewer Pass consists of something known as Pick'Em Challenge where users predict and pick teams which they think have the potential to move ahead in the tournament.

The Pick'Em Challenge takes place in three parts according to the different stages of the tournament - Challengers Stage, Legends Stage, and Champions Stage.

Here, the first two stages are straightforward where users select from a pool of 16 teams, picking eight teams which according to them could qualify to the next stage and one team that might end up getting eliminated.

As for the last stage, users need to create the entire single-elimination bracket consisting of eight teams. Here, they need to predict the winners of the quarterfinals stage to setup the semifinal faceoff and then do the same for the grand finals as well.

How to play Pick'Em in CS:GO?

It is definitely no rocket science but predicting the teams accurately to complete the Pick'Em Challenge is no joke either. It requires a good understanding of all the competing teams and players, while a decision needs to be made based on both data and factual instinct.

For the first two stages, users need to pick one team each for the '3-0' and '0-3' scorelines, the former being a team that might go undefeated through to the next stage while the latter being a team that might get eliminated without winning a single match.

Things get more complicated with the third and final stage, as users are required to complete the entire bracket comprising of both semifinals and grand final. Here, they need to make very accurate predictions because one wrong initial pick could disturb the entire setting.

How to complete the Pick'Em Challenge?

In order to complete the entire Pick'Em Challenge users are required to complete a total of nine tasks, not all of them being equally demanding and some simply acting as pre-requisites for others.

1. Users are required to activate their Coin before the IEM Rio Major 2022 concludes on 13^th November.

2. All the nine Pick'Em predictions for the Challengers Stage need to be placed before 31^st October.

3. Users need to achieve at least five correct Pick'Em predictions in the Challengers stage.

4. All the nine Pick'Em predictions for the Legends Stage need to be placed before 5^th November.

5. Users need to achieve at least five correct Pick'Em predictions in the Legends stage.

6. All the seven Pick'Em predictions for the Champions Stage need to be placed before 10^th November.

7. Users need to achieve two correct predictions in the quarterfinals.

8. Users need to achieve one correct prediction in the quarterfinals.

9. Users need to correctly predict the winners of the Grand Final.

All rewards for completing the Pick'Em Challenge

The main goal behind completing the Pick'Em Challenge is to receive the rewards associated with it. For every three tasks completed, the Event Coin will automatically be upgraded for the user, this way they can take it all the way from Bronze to Diamond.

Additionally, with each coin upgrade the user will also get a free Souvenir Token, a maximum of three can be attained by completing all the challenges and several more can be purchased. These can in turn be used to open Souvenir Packages to claim further skins and stickers.
