As the PUBG Mobile ban continues to affect the Indian esports ecosystem, it seems that there are new problems growing in the scene. Ex-Fnatic player Ujwal "inyodream" Chaudhari who is currently playing for Oldskool.gg, has alleged in an Instagram post that that certain players and teams are paying their way into the Tier 1 scene, in both scrims or tournaments.
In the post, inyodream talks about how some scrim and tournament organizers in the Tier 1 scene have discovered a quick hack for making easy money. He alleges that instead of ranking new players and teams based on their achievements, they are simply paying money as much as INR 15,000 (approximately $200 USD) to INR 25,000 ($340) to enter the competition. He also said that they don’t deserve the slot either way.
Inyodream alleges top teams like TSM Entity and Fnatic know about this
In the post, he also alleges that major teams such as TSM Entity, Fnatic, GodLike, and Xspark are aware of this and still continued to scrim or play with these teams. inyodream ends the first post by saying 'Still don’t wanna talk about it?’ perhaps indicating that they are keeping their silence.
He concludes by saying that while they don’t have the exposure but are still performing if we take that into account, then there are so many teams out there. He also says that if that is the explanation, then every team should be given a chance each day.
