As of October 7th, the Wild Rift Regional Closed Beta includes Indonesia, The Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan and South Korea. Yesterday, Riot released patch notes for version 0.5 of the closed beta. Champions like Aurelion Sol, Sona, Singed and have been nerfed along with turrets and Critical Strike items. Additionally, Gragas has been buffed while Ahri has been adjusted.

Wild Rift’s New Practice Mode, Buffs and Nerfs

A new practice mode has been introduced which lets players try out tricky combos, improve last-hitting skills and familiarise themselves with the game on their own terms. The mode also allows players to try all the champions so they can decide how to spend their Blue Motes better.

Other features include:

  • Swap champion
  • Instant level-up
  • Invincibility
  • 1-second cooldowns
  • Infinite gold
  • Enemy and ally dummy targets
  • Enemy AI champion (selectable and configurable)
  • Remove all minions
  • Remove Fog of War

The update also added Japanese and Korean support to accommodate the new regions under Closed Beta.

Wild Rift Patch Notes For Version 0.5 Of Closed Beta

Ahri

Ahri’s passive, (1) Orb of Deception and (2) Fox-Fire have been changed to be more similar with the League PC version of the mage.

(P) Essence Theft

(New) After Ahri casts 3 abilities that hit an enemy, her next spell that hits an enemy heals her.

(1) Orb of Deception

(Removed) Grants a burst of movement speed while the orb is out

(2) Fox-Fire

(New) Grants a burst of movement speed when cast

Aurelion Sol

Aurelion Sol has the highest win rate amongst the top ranks due to a lot of mobility and crowd control so Riot is nerfing his cooldowns and stun duration.

(1) Starsurge

Stun duration: Min 0.55/0.6/0.65/0.7s // Max 2.2/2.4/2.6/2.8s → Min 0.4/0.45/0.5/0.55s // Max 1.6/1.8/2/2.2s

(2) Celestial Expansion

Cooldown: 5/4/3/2s → 8/6/4/2s

(3) Comet of Legend

Cooldown: 55/50/45/40s → 70/60/50/40s

Gragas

Gragas had received buffs in the Regional Alpha patch but that did little to improve his performance, so he’s been buffed.

Health: 650 → 690

Health per level: 115 → 125

(Ult) Explosive Cask

AP Ratio: 70% → 80%

Singed

Singed’s base mana pool was letting players keep his poison toggled on even when not in combat. His (1) Poison Trail damage is also getting nerfed with an increase in mana cost and a dip in the AP ratio.

Mana: 390 → 345

(1) Poison Trail

Damage: 30/40/50/60 → 20/30/40/50

AP Ratio: 0.4 → 0.3

Mana: 13 → 15

Damage-over-time Duration: 2s → 1.8s

Sona

Sona’s mana pool was letting players just faceroll the screen without worrying about running out, so her mana stats are being nerfed.

Mana: 435 → 345

Mana regen per level: 24 → 15

Critical Strike Items

Crit items are relatively cheap, thus allowing ADCs to rack up those kills and hit full build faster than other roles. Crit Strike items are becoming costlier across the board.

Total Cost: Increased from 800 → 1000

Critical Strike Chance: 15% → 20%

Statikk Shiv

Combine Cost: 400G → 600G

Total Cost: 2600G → 2800G

Infinity Edge

Combine Cost: 1000G → 900G

Total Cost: 3300G → 3400G

Game System Changes

Attack Speed

The attack speed reduction formula has been changed. Riot said that this is being done so that champions like Malphite and items like Randuin’s Omen can have a more “significant impact.”

New formula: Base attack speed x (1 + Bonus Attack Speed) * (1 – Attack Speed Slows)

Minions

Minions can now be spotted through the Fog of War. Riot said that this change has been made so that players can “better plan for late-game sieges.”

Pings

Improved in-game visuals to make pings more noticeable.

The “on my way” ping can be dragged to specific targets.

Turrets

“Domino Bonus” damage reduction: 66 per cent to 30 per cent

This means that if two turrets in the same lane fall consecutively, the next structure will take 30 per cent less damage for 30 seconds. This is indicated by a golden glow.
