PMWL 2020 East Week 2 Day 1: SEA And SA Get Competitive
League Play for PMWL East Season Zero Week 2 kicked off today. For the next 2 weeks of League Play, a total of 20 teams will compete for a spot in the top 16 looking to qualify for the upcoming Super Weekend. Super Weekend games are some of the most important of PMWL because the points earned during these 3 days will be counted for the League standings. This will determine who qualifies for World League Finals. Teams that did not make it to the top 16 last week will be fighting hard to make it to Super Weekend in Week 2.

This week of PMWL saw teams that did not qualify for Super Weekend in Week 1 play well today. FreeStyle and U Level Up picked up a Chicken Dinner each. However, Nova Godlike continued their subpar performance into Week 2, ending all their matches in the bottom half of the leaderboard. TSM Entity, T1, MegaStars, Orange Rock esports, REJECT Scarlet and FreeStyle are all neck-to-neck with a 1 or 2 point difference between the teams.

PMWL Week 2 Day 1 Performance: South-East Asian Teams
U Level Up started off in the bottom half of the leaderboard in Match 1 but rose to end Match 3 in the top 3 before picking up a Chicken Dinner against REJECT Scarlet in Match 4. The team ended the day at 3rd Place in the overall standings.
Bigetron RA continued their consistent performance in PMWL, ending in top 10 in all their matches. In Match 2 and 3, the team made it into the top 3 ending with an overall score of 23 Placement Points and 29 Kill Points.
RRQ Athena, which ended on top of the leaderboard in Week 1 of PMWL, also ended Day 1 with a lukewarm performance at 11th place with 23 Placement Points and 18 Kill Points. However, G9 was today’s top kill leader. T1 managed to get a Chicken Dinner in Match 3 and picked up 27 Placement Points and 19 Kill Points ending at 5th place in the overall standings.
PMWL Week 2 Day 1 Performance: South Asian teams
The South Asian teams had a lacklustre showing on Day 1 of PMWL East with the exception of the last match where MegaStars, Orange Rock esports, TeamIND and GXR Celtz made it to the final 5. However, they were taken down by Team Secret who took the Chicken Dinner. Looking at the bigger picture, FreeStyle and TSM Entity had a respectable showing today. FreeStyle went all guns blazing into Match 1 and nabbed a Chicken Dinner and finished in top 10 in Match 2. They slipped a little in Match 3, ending in 14th place.
TSM Entity bounced back with a better showing on Day 1 of Week 2. The team ended in top 10 in Match 1 wiping out Bigetron RA. Match 3 and 4 saw the team end with 9 kill points in 4th and 3rd place respectively. TSM Entity showed better coordination and strategic decision making overall on Day 1.
With the exception of the first game where they ended in 2nd place, Orange Rock esports ended their matches on the bottom half of the leaderboard. While GXR Celtz had a good performance at the end of the first Super Weekend, the team ended on the bottom half of the leaderboard in most of their matches today. SynerGE and TeamIND also stuck to the bottom of the leaderboard with MegaStars showing a middle-of-the-road performance.
Day 2 of the PMWL East Week 2 will start tomorrow at 5:30 PM IST. PMWL 2020 East is streamed live on the official PUBG MOBILE Esports YouTube channel.
