First Set of Invited Teams Announced For PMIS 2020
  • The first 8 invited teams for PMIS 2020 have been announced.
  • These 8 teams will directly be seeded into stage 2 of the competition.

PUBG MOBILE India has revealed the first set of invited teams for the PUBG MOBILE India Series 2020. The tournament has recently seen a revamp in the original format after there were complaints about the selection process after the open qualifiers. Stage 1 of the competition was the online qualifiers from which the top 248 teams were supposed to qualify. This number was later changed to 992 and a new round called the pre-qualifiers was added between stage 1 and stage 2.  The results of the pre-qualifiers, can be found here.

The first set of invited teams will begin their journey directly in stage 2. The initial announcement sees 8 invited teams:

SouL

Fnatic

Megastars

Team IND

Orange Rock

Marcos Gaming

Revenge Esports

Godlike

These 8 teams will join 248 teams in stage 2 of the competition to make a total of 256. In stage two, the 256 teams will be divided into 16 groups of 16 teams, with each group playing 2 matches each. The top 3 teams from each group will be moving onto the next stage of the competition. This makes it a total of 56 teams, who will qualify to the next stage. Stage 2 of the competition will kick off on the 17th of June.

Many will be wondering why the likes of TSM-Entity, SynerGE, Powerhouse, UMumba or even the current South Asia champions, Celtz, did not get direct invites. This is because 8 more invites will be going out to teams in stage 3, which will make the total number of teams 64.
