  • The PUBG Mobile roster was in the works since PUBG Mobile World League.
  • Since SynerGE, Sinha said that GE wanted to ‘go headfirst into the mobile space’.
  • This indicates that Global Esports may look to other games like Free Fire, Call of Duty: Mobile and others.

After the Global Esports announcement of their new PUBG Mobile roster featuring 4 Ex-SouL players and 1 from the original Brawlers team, CEO Dr Rushindra Sinha spoke to AFK Gaming about the team. Talking about the PUBG Mobile ban, Sinha said that the entire esports industry was let down. “It did play a significant role in a lot of organisations struggling and we did see a lot of teams shutting down”. However, he notes that everyone has just about survived and the news of the game coming back has kept everyone excited. “Everyone did say that the game was coming back in November. I think there are still some government compliances that are pending. I know it’s going to get unbanned. I’m just not sure when”.

Global Esports’ New PUBG Mobile Squad

Global Esports seems to be optimistic about PUBG Mobile being unbanned, having picked up a roster before the game is out in India. Speaking about this, Sinha said, “So we’ve actually been planning this roster and talking to a lot of people in the community since way before the game got banned”. The players were approached much before the ban, during the PUBG Mobile World League. “So I’ve actually been talking to Sangwan and a couple of other players for a long time, so this is a few months in the making."

The new Global Esports PUBG Mobile roster consists of Dhruv "Sangwan" Sangwan, Aman "AMAN" Jain, Varad "Blaezi" Kadtan, Vinay "Iconic" Gahlot and Hrithik "Dark" Saxena. Sinha adds, “So I don’t think there’s any one particular player that’s important. I think it’s the entire team that needs to work together. Obviously, PUBG is a team game. No matter how good you are, no one player can wipe the entire squad all at once.”

Since SynerGE, Sinha said that GE wanted to ‘go headfirst into the mobile space’. The PUBG Mobile team is ‘just the first of many’, indicating that Global Esports may look to other games like Free Fire, Call of Duty: Mobile and others. Global Esports is also focusing on content creation, “We also have a new content house that we’ve set up in Bombay.”
