  • 100 Thieves sign former CS:GO pro steel to their VALORANT roster.
  • The move comes just days after steel had announced his retirement from CS:GO.
  • This is the third former CS:GO player to join 100 Thieves new VALORANT lineup.

Former British-Canadian CS:GO player Joshua "steel" Nissan who used to play for North American esports organization Chaos Esports Club has been picked up by 100 Thieves for their VALORANT roster. The move comes just a few days after steel transitioned to a full-time VALORANT streamer for Chaos after announcing his retirement from Counter-Strike.

Since having released a majority of their VALORANT roster last month following a rather disappointing run by the squad, 100 Thieves begun signing new players in order to create a new lineup. The first player picked up by them was former Team Liquid in-game leader Nicholas “nitr0” Cannella and now the organization has signed their second new player who is also a former CS:GO professional.

Steel is a talented player who never got an opportunity to play CS:GO at the highest level due to his involvement in the North American match-fixing scandal back when he used to play for iBUYPOWER.

After being handed a permanent Valve ban steel’s CS:GO career never took off as he could never play in a Valve-sponsored tournament ever again, despite the handicap he kept slogging in the competitive scene by playing for various tier-2 and tier-3 teams finally getting a breakthrough with the Chaos roster.

But with the rise of a new tactical first-person shooter steel made a decision to jump ship and restart a career in VALORANT, as his scope of achieving success in CS:GO had been highly limited and compromised due to the permanent ban.

Let’s see how 100 Thieves perform with their new VALORANT roster which is still under development. They way they have been recruiting players this time around it seems as if a complete CS:GO centric lineup is what the organization is aiming for.
