- Overwatch to release Legendary skins Masquerade Reaper and Huitzilopochtli Zenyatta.
This time’s Overwatch Anniversary event is getting us a treasure trove of content, including some amazing skins for Reaper and Zenyatta. After the reveal of a Little Red Ashe, Blizzard has now given us a sneak peek into Masquerade Reaper and Huitzilopochtli Zenyatta.
The Reaper Legendary sees the hero in a crimson outfit complete with a matching hat and a gold and white skull mask. The skin is actually a throwback to a 2017 comic released by Blizzard called ‘Masquerade’, based on events in Monaco and Venice. We knew the Masquerade Reaper skin was coming after a leak from the developer team but now we can see it in all its glory.
Longtime fans will remember Doomfist’s Legendary Formal skin in 2018, taken directly from the Monaco section of the comic. Perhaps we’ll see a few more skins in the coming years from the heroes featured in the comic.
The new Zenyatta skin dons the omnic as the Aztec god of war and sun, Huitzilopochtli. His orbs boast an intricate design and his outfit is made of stone and gold with a regal headdress. Zenyatta’s skins have a history of being based on gods and entities from Egyptian mythology (Ra) and even the Lovecraftian universe (Cultist).
Both Legendary skins will be available when the event starts in two days on 19th May. The skins can also be unlocked as rare drops in Anniversary Loot Boxes.
