Blitz, who has been coaching Team Liquid since 2019, has revealed that there is a 30% chance that SumaiL would be a part of Team Liquid’s 5-man roster at this year’s Dota 2 World Championships, TI10. In the Cap and Blitz podcast, published on May 3, 2021, William "Blitz" Lee mentioned that the team intends to give their offlaner, Samuel "Boxi" Svahn, all the space that he requires and that they do not have any indication of his return to the active roster, which lead to this possibility. Team Liquid is currently playing in the EU 2021 DPC Season 2: Upper Division and has played a couple of series in a winning cause with Syed Sumail "SumaiL" Hassan as their stand-in.

Blitz talks about SumaiL’s chances of playing with Team Liquid at TI10 and his recruitment

While the fans of SumaiL have been quite exhilarated to watch “The King” back in action, there has been an ongoing debate on the period of time he is expected to stick with the team. The central point of this discussion has been SumaiL’s chances of playing at TI10.

Team Liquid’s coach, Blitz, while mentioning that Boxi would be welcomed into the roster as and when he wanted to, stated that there is indeed a possibility of their latest stand-in playing with Liquid at TI10.

“I think it’s a very real possibility (on SumaiL being with Team Liquid at TI10). I’d say if I had to put odds on it, I know you know that I love gambling and stuff, I’d probably say like 30% which is fairly high actually, but also presupposes that we make it (to TI10).”

Blitz also accepted that Team Liquid had to play like this was their 5-man roster for TI from now onwards because they have no idea about the return of Boxi and don’t know anything about when he can return to the roster.

Blitz Was Reluctant to Pick Up SumaiL Initially

One of the more interesting discussions in the podcast involved Blitz being transparent on why he was initially apprehensive of asking the 22-year-old midlaner to be the stand-in for Boxi.

“I went to visit the EG house back in 2018 before TI8 because I was going through a lot of stuff which I think you are aware of and it was right before the Summit. Artour (Arteezy) invited me over to just kinda hang out, help out with the bootcamp and just be around the boys. So, it was like me, Artour and SumaiL. Eventually, me and SumaiL ended up flying Gunnar out there - we split up his flight (cost) so he could come to play PUBG with us in person. It was a really good vibe. But me and SumaiL had a lot of arguments and I kind of walked away from it thinking like - nice charismatic kid but kind of an asshole, like I would not want to work with and kinda drives me up the wall… I just walked away from it with not the best impression.”

Blitz also stated that he was also anxious about recruiting SumaiL because he felt that there had to be some reason behind no top-tier teams going for him. But in the end, he revealed that they decided not to think too much and ended up asking the 22-year-old midlaner to join them.
