Nigma's New Roster Takes Down Team Secret 2-0 in DPC 2021 S2

Team Nigma has finally been able to break free from the clutches of Team Secret, beating them for the first time in 10 months. Team Nigma looked hot in their debut series with their new carry,  Igor "iLTW" Filatov, as they took down Team Secret 2-0 in the EU 2021 DPC Season 2: Upper Division. While the first game showcased top-quality Dota 2 as both teams displayed great itemization, skill usage and map awareness, Nigma roared in the second one to take a comprehensive victory. This series has marked Team Secret’s first loss in the 2021 DPC Season as they had a flawless run in the first season, winning all their series.

Team Nigma vs Team Secret: Match Recap and Highlights

Team Nigma had last tasted victory against Secret in the BEYOND EPIC: Europe/CIS in June 2020. Since then, the TI7 champions have been ousted in every series they played against Puppey and his teammates. 

However, in their first series with iLTW in the EU 2021 DPC Season 2: Upper Division, KuroKy and his teammates finally beat Team Secret.

Game 1 provided the viewers with something old school as Puppey played a jungle Venomancer. While Team Secret came out ahead in most of the early brawls, Team Nigma was able to bounce back because of their flawless skill usage and itemization to take the first game in 43 minutes. 

Game 2 witnessed a clinical performance from Team Nigma as they outclassed Team Secret in the laning phase - a rare sight. Miracle- was impeccable on his unconventional mid Sand King as his team, as a whole, outright stomped Secret, winning the game in 27 minutes.

Team Nigma have provided their fans with an overwhelming treat in its debut series with iLTW. They looked refreshed and gave reminiscences of their old glorious self. They would certainly be elated with the victory over the Raidboss of EU Dota 2, and now aim at continuing this performance in the matches to come. Their next series is scheduled for April 22, 2021, against Team Liquid.

Team Secret have finally bowed in the EU DPC, losing their first series in the region in three months. They were just undone by a rejuvenated Team Nigma squad on the day. However, they are still the top dogs of the league and a strong comeback might be on the cards. They play their next series against Hellbear Smashers on April 21, 2021.
