Gorgc has rated the top EU Dota 2 professional players in their in-game roles. In a Twitch livestream on March 17, 2021, Janne "Gorgc'' Stefanovski, noted down the EU players, primarily the ones that competed in the 2021 DPC Season 1: Upper Division, and arranged them into various tiers, with SS-tier being at the top, followed by S, A, B, C, and D at the bottom. The tier list was based on the streamer’s own opinion and also included players from the following 10 teams - Team Secret, Alliance, OG, Team Nigma, Team Liquid, Vikin.gg, High Coast Esports, Tundra Esports, Evil Geniuses, and Virtus.pro. While Gorgc took Evil Geniuses into account because the team has competed in Europe several times, Virtus.pro was also rated with the EU teams because of their skill and current performance.
Twitch streamer Gorgc rates EU Dota 2 Players in position-wise tier lists
Gorgc’s rating was based on the players’ current form and includes their performance in the recently concluded DPC season and the past half year.
Also, inside a tier, the players were rated from top to below. For example, in position 1 S tier, Miracle-, Nightfall, MATUMBAMAN were placed and according to the streamer’s opinion, Miracle- is a better carry player at the moment than Nightfall who is a better carry than MATUMBAMAN currently.
Position 1 / Carry
|S||Miracle-, Nightfall (aka epileptick1d), MATUMBAMAN|
|A||Arteezy, Nikobaby, miCKe|
Gorgc felt that MidOne was a newer carry player as compared to his opponents and that his performances in the midlane have comparatively been much better, particularly during his time with Team Secret.
Position 2 / Midlaner
|C||w33, BOOM, Supream^, Nine|
The Swedish streamer believes that Nisha is the best player among all in these five lists currently as he has the capacity to play both position 1 and 2 effectively and is extremely mechanically skilled. Topson's performances have been lackluster in many recent games so has been rated below Limmp in A-tier. According to Gorgc, w33 is the most replaceable player in Team Nigma as there are better midlaners in the competitive scene who can perform the role -primarily making space for Miracle- that he performs in the team.
Position 3 / Offlaner
|A||s4= Ceb, iceiceice, MinD_ContRoL|
|B||33, DM, KheZu, Boxi|
Although the streamer feels Zai's performances were substandard in a couple of DPC matches, he is still the best offlaner in the EU Dota 2 scene now.
Position 4 / Soft Support
|A||Save-, Taiga, Saksa|
|C||Aramis, Era, Biver|
YapzOr's placement in the B-tier attracted a lot of disagreement in the streamer's Twitch chat but Gorgc feels that YapzOr is the last reason behind Team Secret's recent success.
Position 5 / Hard Support
|B||KuroKy, Fly, Kingslayer (Illias)|
|C||fng, Fata, Seleri|
Despite OG's failure to qualify for the Singapore Major, Gorgc feels that N0tail is still the most-value position five player currently as not only delivers strong performances but also brings a lot of optimism and PMA to the team.
Previously, on March 8, 2021, EG’s offlaner, Daryl Koh "iceiceice" Pei Xiang, had created a similar type of position-wise tier list where he rated the top SEA Dota 2 players.
Iceiceice also reacted to Gorgc's list by jokingly saying: "It is actually not a bad list... It is a horrible list, I am not going to lie."
When the first DPC Major in 14 months, the ONE Esports Singapore Major, kicks off on March 27, 2021, it will be intriguing to see which players from the aforementioned lists shine and which ones choke.
