G2 Esports’ entry fragger Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač recently hosted an ‘Ask Me Anything’ (AMA) session on Reddit (r/GlobalOffensive), answering a lot of interesting questions. A few of them were targeted towards the departure of legendary French AWPer Kenny “kennyS” Schrub from the team’s active CS:GO roster, following a series of underwhelming performances especially since the start of 2021. HuNter responded to them in brief without going into a lot of detail, while also clarifying how the team plans on moving further without a dedicated primary AWPer, as kennyS has been replaced by long-standing G2 rifler Audric "JaCkz" Jug who had been benched in Dec 2020.

HuNter talks about legendary AWPer KennyS

HuNter admitted that both he and Nemanja “nexa” Isaković had initially accepted G2 Esports’ offer in Sep 2019 because of kennyS. He was one of the reasons why they joined the French CS:GO roster, commenting on the same huNter said that,

“It’s true that we have a lot of respect for what kennyS did,” he continued by talking about how he felt about his departure from the active CS:GO roster, “We parted ways because we think it's the right thing to do for the team, but it doesn't take away Kenny's amazing talent, I wish him the best!”

Having said that, huNter went on to explain to another user how G2 plan on playing without a dedicated primary AWPer now that kennyS had been replaced with JaCkz. The 25-year-old Bosnian-Serbian professional stated that the plan, for now, is to use Nikola “NiKo” Kovač as a hybrid AWPer.

“We want to give a fair chance to this move, everything will depend on how NiKo is going to adapt with time, but yes, the intention is to have a long term thing coming from that.”

On a lite hearted note huNter went on to mention kennyS again when asked ‘What his favourite moment was other than the StarLadder Berlin Major 2019 when he was still playing with CR4ZY?’, to which he responded by saying that,

“Winning against my brate (Serbian for brother) kennyS on the day of his birthday and in his own country at DreamHack Tours,” is one of his favorite moment outside of the Major that he attended along with CR4ZY.
