HenryG Retires From Esports Commentary, Hints at Huge CS:GO Announcement

British CS:GO talent Henry "HenryG" Greer has announced his retirement from esports commentary after having spent more than 6 years in the Counter-Strike industry working as both a caster and an analyst. While the Brit might be retiring from casting he also dropped a hint about his future in an interview with DBLTAP, HenryG stated that “On the 7^th of September - you’ll see that I’m not kidding when I say that my next move is going to be a colossal one for the CS:GO community.”

HenryG Announces Retirement From Esports Commentary

One of the best CS:GO casters to have ever worked in the industry, HenryG has decided to hang up his boots as he walked away “with the heaviest of hearts.” 

The 32-year-old Brit who is also a former Counter-Strike player had started his career back in 2014, and has since witnessed immense success, having worked in 10 CS:GO Majors and more than 150 live tournaments. He was mostly seen working alongside his casting partner Matthew "Sadokist" Trivett and together they are considered to be one of the best casting duos to have ever worked in the esports industry.

HenryG had even received the ‘Esports broadcaster of the year’ award last year by Esports Awards, but it seems that it was not enough to motivate him to continue casting as he states in an interview with DBLTAP that “It simply wasn’t making me happy anymore.”

He went on to reveal that the pace of the job was getting too much for him to keep up with and that it was directly affecting the quality of his commentary. With the ongoing global pandemic, CS:GO for better or for worse has become an online affair and hence HenryG took this opportunity to “call it a day and start being able to funnel my focus into avenues that I find challenging and rewarding.”

Talking more on what HergyG had in store for all of us which is scheduled to be announced on 7^th September, the Brit said that it is going to be his most ambitious challenge ever and he is excited to reveal it soon.

HenryG has had one of the best careers as a caster and his decision to retire from esports comes just days after Lauren "Pansy" Scott also took a break from casting CS:GO. This year truly has seen a lot of movement from quite a few talents with Chad "SPUNJ" Burchill also considering changing careers next year.
