The Middle-East qualifier for ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND 2019 taking place at Exile Gaming, Dubai came to an end today with YaLLa Esports and Demise qualifying for the main event, scheduled to take place in Shanghai from 14th-17th November.

YaLLa Esports, a Dubai based organization who played through the Lebanese qualifier, consisting of a mixed team eased its way into the playoffs after defeating both EZ5 and NASR eSports. They faced the Jordanian team, DIvine Vendetta, in the first semifinal match-up, taking a ‘2-0’ victory against them after playing through a tough couple of games.

On the other hand, we had the team from Kuwait, Darkside square up against the Turkish side, Demise. Demise did not lose a single game in the tournament as they qualify for the main event, finishing the Middle East qualifier as the number one seeded team.

It was shocking to witness NASR eSports walk out of the qualifier with sad faces after losing the Group-A decider match to Darkside. The runners-up of the 2018 edition of the event did not even make it to the playoffs this time.

We did witness some intense counter-strike action and new teams causing moments of hysteria and upsets. It will be great to see these two fairly new teams compete against some of the best teams from Asia in Shanghai.
