Riot Games revealed on Wednesday, September 16th that League of Legends: Wild Rift is entering a Closed Beta phase. The developer and publisher is expanding the game's access to players in some regions of Southeast Asia. The Closed Beta is now live in Indonesia. Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore are soon to follow with even more markets to be included in the coming months. The Wild Rift team is hoping to gain feedback on how to continue improving the game before launch and has been developing features, bug fixes, and player-requested quality-of-life improvements. The specification requirements for the game aren’t set in stone and Riot is aiming to make the game compatible with as many devices as possible.
League Of Legends Wild Rift Current Specification Requirements
Riot Games has set up certain targets for their mobile game’s specification requirements. The FAQ page on the Wild Rift website was updated in May 2020. For Android, Riot is hoping to have compatibility for devices with 1.5GB RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, and Adreno 306 GPU, however, the developer confirmed that they were working to support 32-bit Android processors. For iOS devices, the developer is aiming to have Wild Rift run on iPhone 6 and later. Console players will have to wait for Riot’s update regarding the specification requirements, this update will be out sometime during the next few months of 2020.
Wild Rift’s Regional Android Alpha happened in Brazil and the Philippines during June this year for Android users. Wild Rift was available to a limited group of randomly selected players who pre-registered for Wild Rift on Google Play. The minimum specification requirements for the Alpha test were a CPU: 8 Core, 1.5 GHz and above, 64-bit processors only. Phones with 3GB and above RAM could play it.
Closed Beta For Wild Rift
With the Closed Beta launch for Wild Rift, Riot is hoping to gain feedback on how to continue improving the game before launch. League of Legends: Wild Rift’s Closed Beta has several additions to the game from the alpha test earlier this year including 6 new champions (Amumu, Dr Mundo, Jarvan IV, Sona, Singed, and Varus), new cosmetic items and a ranked mode. Riot is also finally opening up to their promised specification requirements for iPhone users with iOS testing. Players can sign up on the Wild Rift website for a chance at joining a small test for iOS devices.
All Wild Rift accounts will be reset in early October, and all Wild Cores purchased will be returned with a 20% bonus on top as a thank you to players for helping test the game.
