Wolves Esports is the esports division of the popular English Premier League team Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club. It has rosters in multiple esports titles like Rainbow Six Siege, Street Fighter, Valorant, Honor of Kings, Player Unknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile and more.
In a recent turn of events it has been revealed that, Xu "Jimmy" Yin-jun, the former Nova Esports PUBG Mobile athlete will now be playing for Wolves Esports.
Wolves Esports Sign Jimmy for $309k USD ahead of PEL 2024
The Peacekeeper Elite League (PEL) 2024 season is about to start and it has already amazed the fans with exciting news. It has been revealed that Nova Esports’ In Game Leader (IGL), Jimmy, will now be playing for Wolves Esports in the upcoming PEL 2024 season. Jimmy achieved a good amount of success with Nova Esports winning a couple of events, but now will be playing against his old teammates. He was on the auction list for a base price of $280,000 USD and Wolves Esports was the one who made the $309,000 USD bid to sign him for the upcoming season.
Jimmy has been one of the most successful PUBG Mobile athletes. As an IGL he led the Nova Esports team to several championships. He won the Peacekeeper Elite Global Invitation Summer 2019 event, Peacekeeper Elite Championship 2019, Peacekeeper Elite League 2020 Season 2, Peacekeeper Elite Championship 2020, Peacekeeper Elite League 2021 Season 3 and PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2022 events with the Nova Esports squad.
The 2023 PEL season was not the one for Wolves Esports. It finished in the 16th position in the Peacekeeper Elite League Spring 2023 and PUBG Mobile Regional Clash 2023 SEA vs PEL events. It was also unable to qualify for the PMGC 2023 event as it was placed 14th in the PMGC 2023 - PEL Qualifiers.
Wolves Esports has not been able to make a mark in the PUBG Mobile scene and it will be hoping to have a turn around with the addition of Jimmy to its PUBG Mobile roster.
