Wild Rift Southeast Asia Championship 2021: Tournament Schedule, Prize pool, Teams, and More
The highly anticipated League of Legends: Wild Rift Southeast Asia (SEA) Championship 2021 is finally set to kick off on 14th Sept 2021. The Wild Rift SEA Championship 2021 will feature 21 teams who qualified from the Wild Rift SEA Icon Series 2021: Fall Season as well as one team from the Oceania qualifier, the ESL Mobile Open: Oceania Championship Season 1. Teams will be competing in the Wild Rift SEA Championship 2021 for the lion’s share of the $200,000 USD prize pool as well as the honor of representing SEA in the upcoming Wild Rift World Championship 2021 which is expected to kick off in December 2021.
Wild Rift SEA Championship 2021 details
The tournament will have three stages. The first stage will be the play-ins followed by the group stage and finally, the playoffs which will determine the champions of the esport event.
Here are the format and schedule of the three stages of the Wild Rift SEA Championship 2021;
Play-ins (14th - 19th Sept 2021)
Twelve teams will compete in three brackets featuring a double-elimination BO5 format. The top teams from each bracket will proceed to the group stage.
Group Stage (23rd - 26th Sept 2021)
The top three teams from the play-ins will join the nine teams that directly qualified for the group stage and will be split into two groups with six teams each. The two groups will be competing in a single-round robin BO2 match. The top four teams from each group will advance to the playoffs.
Playoffs (30th September - 3rd Oct 2021)
Teams will be seeded based on group stage performance;
Group Winners: Upper Bracket R2
2nd/3rd: Upper Bracket R1
4th: Lower Bracket R1
The upper bracket matches and lower bracket finals will be played in a BO5 format. The lower bracket rounds 1 to 3 will be played in a BO3 format. The grand finals will be played in a BO7 format.
Wild Rift SEA Championship 2021 participating teams
The champions from the Wild Rift SEA Icon Series 2021: Fall Season regional circuit and the ESL Mobile Open: Oceania Championship Season 1 will proceed to the Group Stage while the rest will have to climb their way from the play-ins.

Wild Rift SEA Championship 2021 prize pool distribution
The SEA esports event will feature a $200,000 USD prize pool. However, the distribution amount is yet to be announced by Riot Games.
Last season, EVOS Esports Thailand (TH) won the championship title in the Wild Rift Southeast Asia Icon Series 2021: Summer Super Cup. It will be interesting to see who will claim the championship in the Wild Rift SEA Championship 2021 and make its way to the upcoming World Championship.
