Wild Rift SEA Icon Series 2021: Summer Super Cup Group Stage Recap
Onic Esports [ID] vs ONE Team [TW]
Onic Esports managed to take the early game in their favor through securing objectives. However, a crucial Baron steal from ONE Team on the 15-minute mark flipped the tides of the battle, wiping out Onic Esports and allowing ONE TEAM to secure their first win of the match.
Cerberus Esports [VN] vs Impunity Esports [SG]
Impunity Esports had a hard time winning team fights. Cerberus Esports simply had full control of the map, allowing them to engage and be very aggressive to Impunity Esports. Impunity may have the upper hand in securing objectives but Cereberus Esports’s impressive team fight domination allowed them to secure a win.
Berjaya Dragons [MY] vs MVP [HK]
Berjaya Dragons know how to win team fights. However, they fall short when it comes to securing objectives, something that MVP prioritized more than securing kills. This proved to be a problem for Berjaya Dragons as the dragon buffs ultimately amplified MVP’s capabilities to win team fights during the late game and push turrets faster. In the end MVP’s map awareness and rotations helped them secure a win against Berjaya Dragons.
Buriram United Esports [TH] vs Flash Wolves [TW]
Buriram United Esports took control of the early game, forcing Flash Wolves to play safe. However, their downfall was mostly because they focused on pushing turrets too much than securing objectives or denying Flash Wolves of their gold resources. This allowed Flash Wolves to recover from their bad early game stats and emerge victorious in the end.
Onic Esports [ID] vs Cerberus Esports [VN]
Onic Esports dominated the match from start to finish. Buriram managed to steal a Baron buff at the 11-minute mark, giving them a slight chance to flip the tides, almost ending the game in their facor. However, Onic Esports’ impressive rotations allowed them to survive long enough for the Baron buff to expire, win team fights, and secure their win before Cereberus Esports could recover.
ONE Team [TW] vs Impunity Esports [SG]
Impunity Esports kept being punished by ONE Team for their misplays in the entire match. Impunity Esports was always late in jungle objectives, allowing ONE Team to easily take control of the map and secured all jungle objectives. The match ended with ONE Team securing the win with 10 kills while Impunity Esports only managed to get 2 kills for the match.
Berjaya Dragons [MY] vs Buriram United Esports [TH]
Contrary to their previous playstyle, Buriram United Esports played safely during their match against Berjaya Dragons. Berjaya Dragons may have the kill advantage but Buriram United Esport’s carefully executed rotations allowed them to slowly open an opportunity to take down the opposing team. At the 16-minute mark, Buriram United Esports managed to even out their kill count and secured a win.
MVP [HK] vs Flash Wolves [TW]
The game is a one-sided match for Flash Wolves. MVP had a rough early game and couldn’t recover due to Flash Wolves’ consistent punishment and quick map rotations. The match ended with Flash Wolves winning with an impressive 24 kills while MVP only managed to secure 6 kills.
Impunity Esports [SG] vs Onic Esports [ID]
Onic Esport dominated the match, keeping Impunity Esports from securing a single jungle objective in the match. Impunity Esports tried their best to stall out the game until they can recover. However, as time went on, Onic Esports simply kept getting stronger. The ended for Impunity Esports as their opposing team engaged on an unexpectedly deep dive in their base, opening their top and middle lane. The match ended with Onic Esports securing the win.
Cerberus Esports [VN] vs ONE Team [TW]
Cerberus Esports put their focus on map control, making it hard for ONE Team to roam around without being spotted. This ultimately hampered ONE Team’s progress, forcing them to play passively and hold out until late game. Unfortunately, ONE Team never had the chance to recover as a crucial team fight occurred at the 17-minute mark, with Cereberus Esports wiping out the entire quad of ONE Team and ended the match before they could respawn.
Flash Wolves [TW] vs Berjaya Dragons [MY]
The undefeated team continues their winning streak after dominating Berjaya Dragons in a seemingly one-sided match. Berjaya Dragons couldn’t keep up with Flash Wolves’ quick rotations and objective runs. The match ended with Flash Wolves winning the match and securing 21 kills while Berjaya Dragons only managed to get 7 kills.
Buriram United Esports [TH] vs MVP [HK]
Buriram United Esports seemed to had the upper hand in the early game. They managed to open up the mid-lane of MVP at the 13-minute mark. However, the dragon buffs secured by MVP definitely helped the team recover from their seemingly bad early game and dominated in the late game. The match ended with MVP securing the win against Buriram United Esports.
