Wild Rift Reality Show Will Feature Retired LPL Pro Players Uzi and Misaya

A League of Legends (LoL): Wild Rift reality show has been announced featuring two LoL Pro players, Jian “Uzi” Zi-Hao and Yu “Misaya” Jing-Xi. The show will document the journey of six Wild Rift teams as they compete for a spot in the upcoming Wild Rift League (WRL). The WRL is one of the three qualification tracks for the mobile MOBA title in China. The other two are the LPL Qualifiers and National Grand Tournament. According to an official post on Weibo, the show will tell the stories of each player in the team and what drives them to keep pursuing their dreams of being one of the best in the Wild Rift esports scene.

A Wild Rift esports documentary has been announced featuring Wild Rift pro players in China

The official Weibo page of Wild Rift china has announced a documentary-styled reality show that will feature Chinese Wild Rift teams who will be competing in an upcoming esports event. The reality show will be directed by Yan Min, known for directing the Chinese comedy reality game show, Go Fighting.

The six esports teams who will be featured in the show will be formed by League of Legends Professional League (LPL) organizer, TJ Sports, and Tencent Video. Each of the teams will be owned by popular Chinese celebrities or pro players.

One of the two teams confirmed is the Ultra Fantastic Gaming (UFG) Esports Club which is founded by Uzi in partnership with Chinese singer Fan Chengcheng. The second team that was revealed is the Surpass All which is co-owned by Misaya and LoL PC veterans Feng “FZZF” Zhuo-Jun and Wei “CaoMei” Han-Dong along with Chinese actor Luo Yunxi.

“Everyone knows that I was a professional player before, but this time I participated in the competition as the owner. In fact, it is quite interesting to form a club by myself,” stated Uzi (translated by Google).

A release date for the reality show is yet to be revealed. However, the Wild Rift league that will be featured in the show will kick off later this year and is expected to last until January 2022. The crowned champion in the esports event will earn a slot in the upcoming Wild Rift LPL Qualifiers.

Wild Rift will officially be released in China on 15th Sept 2021. Despite it not being released yet, Riot Games has already revealed its esports plans when the game officially arrives in China. It will be interesting to see how the Wild Rift esports scene in China evolves, considering it has one of the biggest markets in the League of Legends PC esports scene.
