The long-awaited League of Legends: Wild Rift patch 2.5 preview has finally arrived, revealing a slew of new content for players to look forward to. The patch update is scheduled to drop on 14th Oct 2021 and will feature three new champions in the game as well as a ton of new gameplay features, such as the Guild system and matchmaking improvements that will improve the overall quality of gameplay for players. A new set of Battle Pass rewards will also drop later in the Wild Rift Patch 2.5 update along with a ton of new skins and themed events.
Wild Rift Patch 2.5 Preview: Three new champions
Veigar, the tiny master of evil
Small but fearsome, Veigar can gain power as he kills more champions or minions. This champion is classified as a midlaner but can also be played as a burst support and is capable of being very destructive towards the late game.
Caitlyn, the sheriff of Piltover
A very long-ranged marksman, Caitlyn can take down any champion that’s within her scope. She also has traps that can stun enemies and allow her to execute critical strikes to enemies who fall prey to her traps.
Jayce, the defender of tomorrow
With a hammer that can switch between a cannon and a giant melee weapon, Jayce can adjust his playstyle and execute various combos. This allows him to thrive in the Baron Lane no matter the opponents.
Wild Rift Patch 2.5 Preview: New Battle Pass
A new set of Battle Pass rewards will be up for grabs when the patch update drops. Players can acquire the Hexplorer Tristana Skin in the new Battle Pass after purchasing the premium version.
Wild Rift Patch 2.5 Preview: New Gameplay updates
Guilds
One of the biggest features to be released in the upcoming patch update is the Guild system. After reaching level nine, players will be able to unlock this feature and join or build their own Guild. Making your own Guild will cost 400 Poro Coins or 200 Wild Cores.
The new feature will allow players to build their own community for the purposes of socializing or playing together. There will also be Guild vs Guild battles for players to compete in and earn rewards in the process.
New matchmaking update
The matchmaking system for Wild Rift patch 2.5 will be based on the player’s in-game rating instead of their current ranks. This makes the game much fairer for competitive players and prevents new players from going up against high skilled players.
Players may sometimes get matched with players who are far too high or lower in rank. When this happens, a new icon will be displayed on the loading screen card of players to indicate that their skill level is on par with players above their rank.
Second Rift Herald
In the upcoming Wild Rift patch 2.5 update, two Rift Heralds will be spawning before Baron Nashor arrives in matches. Riot Games hopes to give players incentives for focusing on the Baron Lane and encourage them to take more risks by fighting for more objectives before the late game arrives.
ARAM Changes
The All Mid All Random (ARAM) mode will now spawn Scryer’s Bloom plants in the Howling Abyss, which reveals champions who are invisible or hiding in a brush.
Twitch streaming convenience
A visual upgrade for the share screens will be implemented as well as the addition of the new button that instantly connects the player to Twitch for streaming.
