Wild Rift Patch 2.4 Preview: New Champions

Akshan

This new champion will be released for Riot Game’s three titles: League of Legends PC, Legends of Runeterra, and Wild Rift. The new marksman assassin champion is said to fit perfectly in the mid lane and can reduce an ally’s respawn timer if he can take down the champion that killed his ally.

Brand

This upcoming mage champion is well suited in the mid-lane or as burst support. He gains bonus effects when his enemies are burning and his ultimate is devastating when used in a large group of enemies.

Nunu and Willump

The lovable jungle duo can serve as the team’s tank or a durable mage that can potentially take down large groups of enemies if they can channel their ultimate skill to maximum power. They can also heal by eating jungle monsters or minions.

Thresh

One of the most popular supports in the League of Legends PC, Thresh is known as the “playmaker support” due to his wide variety of arsenal that can help allies engage or disengage in team fights.

New Items

Solari Chargeblade

This item charges whenever you cast an ability, increasing your critical rate per stack. Dealing a critical hit will give bonus critical damage and consumes the stack.

Crystalline Reflector

This item gives champions an armor shard that can reduce and reflect incoming damage back to the attacker. A perfect item for mages who get easily assassinated.

Essence Reaver

This item restores mana through basic attacks while also giving bonus damage to a champion’s abilities depending on their critical rate.

The devs also stated that they will be adding the Wild Rift versions of Navori Quickblades, Stormrazor, and Staff of Flowing Water from the League of Legends PC. The existing items, Bloodthirster and Thornmail will also receive an update soon.

Ranked Changes

The Wild Rift Patch 2.4 Preview has revealed that the promotion series will be removed from the ranked system while also adding the champion banning phase. These major changes will be observed by the developers and they will make changes when necessary.

Competitive Features

A few useful esports features have been added to the game such as an option to toggle Fog of War on or off, and a new heads-up display (HUD) for normal viewing and teamfight viewing while in spectator mode.

A new Highlights feature has also been added. This feature automatically captures your best moments in the game so you don’t have to worry about watching all of your matches to pick the best outplays you made.
