Wild Rift Champions Korea (WCK) 2022 Preseason Invitationals Announced

Riot Games has officially announced a new esports event called Wild Rift Champions Korea (WCK) 2022 Preseason Invitationals which will be held on 27th December and will last until 2nd Jan 2022. The WCK 2022 Preseason Invitationals will feature open qualifiers for new participants along with teams who were active during the WCK 2021 competing for the 50 Million Korean Won ($41,000 USD) prize pool. Riot Games also confirmed that the WCK 2022 will be Korea’s main Wild Rift esports series for next year. Team registration is currently ongoing with more details regarding the esports event to be revealed at a later date.

Riot Games Korea announces WCK 2022 Preseason Invitationals

Following the success of the previous esport WCK 2021 which was held as a LAN event in the Gran Seoul Tower, South Korea, Riot Games announced the second iteration of the esports event for the year 2022. This was announced through a blog in the official website for Wild Rift Korea.

“We hope that this will be an opportunity for you, with the best skills, to show off your cool side and win the hearts of your fans!,” read Riot Games Korea’s statement.

The previous esports event saw KT Rolster (Also known as Rolster Y) dominated the scene with a 4-0 clean sweep victory against Break Frame Gaming (BFG) in the grand finals.

WCK 2022 Preseason Invitationals Registration

The registration for the esports event is currently ongoing and will last until 5th Dec 2021. Interested teams can register by clicking the link provided.

Here are the minimum requirements;

• Diamond Rank or higher in Wild Rift

• Only ages 16 years and older can register

• A team needs to have 5 players who own an account in the Korea server of Wild Rift

WCK 2022 Preseason Invitationals Tournament Format and Schedule

The tournament’s qualifiers up to the group stage will be held online. The playoffs and grand finals, on the other hand, will be held offline in V Space, a performing arts theater in Seoul, South Korea

Here is the schedule for the esports event;

• Qualifier Stage: 12th November - 12th Dec 2021

• Final Group Stage: 27th Dec - 31st Dec 2021

• Playoffs and Grand Finals: 1st Jan - 2nd Jan 2022

Where to Watch the WCK 2022 Preseason Invitationals

The esports event will be broadcast live on the official streaming platforms LCK Twitch, Wild Rift Esport KR YouTube, Wild Rift Esport KR Africa TV, and Naver eSports.
