Omega Esports’ victory during the first day of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines (PH) Season 9 playoffs was short-lived as TNC Pro Team sent it down to the lower brackets. TNC Pro Team was able to deliver a swift 3-1 victory against the Late-game Kings to secure a semi-finals slot. Through a post-match press conference, the team revealed that its coach Vrendon “Coach V” Lin, who is currently confined to a Wheelchair due to Tuberculosis, was one of the main reasons the team strived for a championship title in the MPL PH Season 9.

TNC Pro Team dedicates its playoffs run to Coach V

During the regular season of the MPL PH Season 9, it was revealed that TNC Pro Team’s head coach was hospitalized and has been diagnosed with a type of Tuberculosis known as Pott’s Disease. Despite this, Coach V has been helping the team behind the scene through training and coming up with creative drafting strategies and playstyles with assistance from the team's second coach, Jemson "Scholar" Glean Ignacio. This has helped carry TNC Pro Team up to the playoffs stage

Shortly after securing a dominant 3-1 victory over Omega Esports, Jomearie "Escalera" Delos Santos explained that Coach V is still a crucial part of the team despite his disability.

“I know this is one of his dreams. So when he got sick, I was a bit sad because he was so close to reaching his dreams,” said the TNC mid laner. “This is why, for me, it is very important that he joins us because he has helped us a lot.”

Benthings’ marriage proposal fuels his determination to secure an MSC 2022 slot

While the team overall considers its coach as their core motivation to keep pushing for a championship title in the MPL PH Season 9, the players individually had their own motivations as well. TNC Pro Team’s roamer Ben "Benthings" Maglaque revealed his plans if he ever makes it to the upcoming Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2022.

“It’s true that when I reached internationals, the MSC [2022], I would propose to my girlfriend,” said Benthings. “We'll be reaching 9 years this October. I’ve reached my dreams, now I will aim for our dreams.”

TNC Pro Team vowed to not celebrate until they have secured the MPL PH Season 9 championship title or win the ticket to the MSC 2022. The team will have its semi-finals match on 31st April.
