TSM Wins Upthrust Esports BGMI Pro Scrims - The Ultimate Arena
A worthy practice session for the Indian teams.
The Indian gaming community is still patiently awaiting the return of BGMI (Battlegrounds Mobile India), one of the most popular mobile titles that was banned by the Indian Government in July 2022.
In anticipation of the game's return which is rumored to come back in January 2023, Upthrust Esports recently organized a practice tournament called BGMI Pro Scrims - The Ultimate Arena, handing out invites to some of the top teams from across the country.
The grand finals was played on 28th December with TSM beating the rest to be crowned as the champion, Team SouL walked away as the runner-up, and Team XSpark claimed third place.
TSM is crowned the champion of Upthrust Esports BGMI Pro Scrims - The Ultimate Arena
Upthrust Esports, one of the leading mobile esports tournament organizers from India, started hosting multiple scrim events for BGMI in anticipation of the title's rumored return next year.
Following up on the success of its initial practice tournament called BGMI Pro Scrims, which took place from 14th to 17th December and was won by Global Esports, the organizers doubled down to come up with another event but with a drastic change in its format.
BGMI Pro Scrims - The Ultimate Arena did not follow the regular battle royale game mode which is synonymous with the mobile title, but instead adopted a 1v1 format similar to PC titles like Valorant and CS:GO.
The entire tournament was divided into four stages - Qualifiers, Quarter Finals, Semi Finals, and Grand Finals, taking place from 21st to 28th December with 24 directly invited teams competing in it.
In this tournament, teams took on each other in 1v1 duels while following a single-elimination format, each match featuring a best-of-three series except for the grand final which witnessed a best-of-five clash.
On its way to winning the tournament TSM defeated Big Brother Esports (Qualifier), Revenant Esports (Quarter Finals), Global Esports (Semi Finals), Team SouL (Grand Finals), and Team XSpark (Grand Finals).
This was an exciting event even though some teams were not playing with their permanent lineups, using substitutes as players might not have been available, or they could even be trying out certain players with future goals and signings in mind.
Before the stream concluded, it was announced that more such tournaments are in store by Upthrust Esports, so all the BGMI fans have more exciting tournaments coming up ahead and hopefully teams will be presenting themselves at full strength.
