After a long and grueling match, the Malaysian team Todak managed to pull off a reverse sweep against the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) underdog team, NAVI in the playoffs stage of the M3 World Championship. The matchup spanned across five long and intense rounds with NAVI taking the first two rounds. However, Todak did not back down and redeemed itself with a massive comeback during round three and continued its win-streak streak to finish off with a 3-2 final match score against the CIS underdog team. With this impressive reverse sweep victory, Todak is one step closer to reaching the grand finals of the M3 World Championship.

Todak climbs higher in the playoffs after upsetting NAVI in the M3 World Championship

After being kicked out of the upper bracket, Todak continues to dominate the lower bracket of the playoffs stage. While the team’s performance so far has been a hit-or-miss, the Malaysian team was able to prove its dominance by taking down the rising CIS underdog, NAVI.

NAVI has been one of the underdog teams that fans have been keeping their eyes on. Similar to the North American team, BloodThirstyKings (BTK), the CIS team was able to take down Singapore’s powerhouse team, RSG SG in a surprising clean sweep victory in the playoffs stage.

However, NAVI’s championship run has officially ended after its match against the Malaysian veteran team, Todak. While the first two rounds were favored on the side of NAVI, Todak was able to turn the tides and secure three consecutive wins eliminating the CIS team from the playoffs stage of the M3 World Championship.

Todak struggled to keep up with NAVI’s jungler Kemiran "SunsetLover" Kochkarov. SunsetLover’s jungle rotations were on point which allowed his team to be uncontested when it came to taking objectives. This lasted for two rounds until Todak managed to retaliate. Adding more to Todak’s frustrations, the banning phase on NAVI’s side was focused on suppressing the hero pool of Zikry "Moon" Bin, Todaks mage specialist.

With Idreen "Momo" Bin Abdul’s impressive mechanical skills as Todak’s gold laner, the team was able to counter NAVI’s constant aggression. Eventually, NAVI got burnt out with the relentless rotations made by Momo which prevented them from taking many objectives. NAVI was not able to recover from its predicament which allowed Todak to secure three wins and close the game in its favor.

Todak CikuGais explains what NAVI did wrong during the banning phase

Through a post-match interview, Todak’s jungle specialist Muhammad "CikuGais" Danial stated that they were on edge when NAVI scored two consecutive wins in the match. However, fortunately, his team managed to turn things around and finish with a victory.

“Thanks to God, because it was a very tough match. After losing 2-0, everyone was super nervous and we’re not sure what to do but we just came back, we just reset,” stated CikuGais.

He added that one of his teammates Wan "4Meyz" Wsman was so nervous that he almost fainted and had to keep his arms raised during the match break to keep his blood flow stable.

CikuGais also added that focusing on banning Moon’s heroes was a bad move on NAVI's part as his teammate can play any kind of mage.

“They targeted Moon, but that was the wrong move because Moon is the ‘King of Mage’ in Malaysia and he can play a plethora of heroes so they probably target the wrong person,” stated CikuGais. “It was a good attempt but Moon is that sick.”

It will be interesting to see if Todak can keep its momentum going and claim the championship title in the M3 World Championship.
