Omega Esports got sent to the lower brackets of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2022 playoffs after suffering a 2-1 loss against the Malaysian team Todak. The renowned “Comeback Kings” could not pull off their usual late game dominance due to Todak’s well calculated counterplays. Although Omega Esports was able to win game two, the Filipino squad could not keep its momentum going and eventually settled for a loss. Todak shall proceed to the upper bracket alongside RSG PH while Omega Esports will have to climb its way back up from the lower bracket playoffs of the MSC 2022.

Todak secures 2-1 score against Omega Esports

The defending champion of the MSC 2022 continued its shaky performance in the tournament as the Malaysian representative pushed Omega Esports down to the lower bracket of the playoff stage.

Omega Esports had the upper hand in the first game of the series after securing crucial objectives whilst taking down most of Todak’s base defenses. However, due to a misplay, the defending champions overstayed within Todak’s territory at the 20-minute mark. This caused a wipeout that severely damaged Omega Esports’ chance of winning the first game.

The second game saw Todak dominating the game thanks to Muhammad "Ciku" Danial’s Beatrix. Omega Esports struggled but the team was able to recover from its early jitters and found an opportunity to execute a wipe-out over Todak at the 22-minute mark.

However, Omega Esports ran out of steam in the third game. Ciku kept his momentum going with a Popol and Kupa pick which melted turrets faster than the defending champions could respond. The addition of Abd "YumS" Qayyum’s Franco pick made it difficult for Omega Esports to roam freely on the map. At the 12-minute mark, the defending champions were put in a dire situation, forcing them to initiate a team fight they couldn’t win.

Omega Esports lost the series and got sent to the lower bracket playoffs.

Todak shall now join RSG PH in the upper bracket playoffs of the MSC 2022. Omega Esports still has a second chance at redemption as it shall be joining Falcon Esports to climb the lower brackets in hopes of reaching the grand finals of the event.
