Nexplay EVOS’ pro player Setsuna "Dogie" Ignacio commented on what he observed regarding the match against Omega Esports in the regular season of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines (PH) Season 8. The pro player believes that Omega Esports internally did want to lose in the final match of the regular season to maintain its fourth-place spot. Staying in its position would allow Omega Esports to compete against Blacklist International in the playoffs. According to the pro player, the fact that Omega Esports did not deploy its best players during the final match, proves his point.

Dogie thinks Omega Esports wanted to maintain its fourth-place spot in the regular season of MPL PH Season 8

On 14th Oct 2021, Dogie posted a vlog where he discussed the controversial match between his team Nexplay EVOS and Omega Esports during the final week of the MPL PH regular season.

Dogie believes that Omega Esports really wanted to maintain its fourth-place spot heading into the playoffs stage. He added that Omega Esports intentionally did not deploy its strongest members during the final match. This meant that they could play casually and the main players would not get penalized.

“It was very obvious guys, they did not include Ch4knu, Kelra, Renzio, and E2MAX but he did play a bit,” stated Dogie. “Their main five (players), won’t get penalized.”

Omega Esports’ main five members are Kiel VJ “Kielvj” Hernandez, Patrick “E2MAX” Caidic, Renz “Renzio” Cadua, Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog, Duane “Kelra” Pillas. One of their new members Dean “Raizen” Sumagui does show promise in the current season of MPL PH Season 8.

Dogie further explains that since they got wind of Omega Esports’ scheme, Nexplay EVOS decided to go along with it and secured its win.

“When I saw the lineup (of Omega Esports), they really wanted to lose,” stated Dogie.

The pro player continued with his statements saying that his team will fight any team and is not picky in who they want to compete with.

“Just because OHEB got suspended, that’s not our reason why we want to go against Blacklist International,” stated Dogie.”We really want to fight all the teams.”

Nexplay EVOS is scheduled to go against RSG PH in the MPL PH Season 8 playoffs stage while Omega Esports is set to fight ECHO on 21st October 2021. The winner of the first match will fight ONIC PH on 22nd October 2021 while the winner of the second match will fight Blacklist International.

It will be interesting to see who will make it to the grand finals and claim the championship title for the MPL PH Season 8.
