The Game Awards Announce Nominees for Best Mobile Game 2022

The Game Awards is scheduled to take place on 8^th December at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. It announced nominees for 31 different categories on 14^th November.

With only 23 days remaining for the award ceremony to go live, voting for all categories have opened up for the public across both the official website and Discord server.

Amongst the various categories, five mobile titles were shortlisted for 'Best Mobile Game 2022' consisting of a few surprising names alongside Apex Legends Mobile and Genshin Impact.

All mobile games nominated for 'Best Mobile Game 2022' by The Game Awards

Five mobile titles were nominated by The Game Awards yesterday under the category of best mobile game of the year.

1. Apex Legends Mobile | Lightspeed & Quantum/Respawn/EA

2. Diablo Immortal | Blizzard/NetEase

3. Genshin Impact | HoYovese

4. Marvel Snap | Second Dinner Studios/Nuverse

5. Tower of Fantasy | Hotta Studio/Perfect World/Level Infinite

All five titles managed to amass an impressive and massive userbase through the year, consistently rolling out new updates to tackle bugs and glitches while also providing new content to keep things fresh and interesting.

Apex Legends Mobile is an adaptation of its PC and console version for mobile devices, released by Electronics Arts on 17^th May earlier this year for both Android and iOS devices. This battle royale game is fast paced and exciting, but does not offer cross-platform support.

Diablo Immortal is an action multiplayer open world role-playing game which has been developed by Blizzard and NetEase. It launched on 2^nd June, living up to all the interest it had garnered prior to its release and achieved great success in terms of both downloads and revenue.

Genshin Impact is also an action open world multiplayer role-playing game that has received a lot of acclaim while also attracting and retaining many users. It was released on 28^th September 2020 and has been developed by miHoYo. This game was also the winner of Best Mobile Game last year at The Game Awards.

Marvel Snap is a very different type of mobile game from the ones that have been nominated. It is a digital collectible card game that features more than 150 Marvel characters and was released on 18^th October across Windows, iOS, and Android.

Tower of Fantasy has been developed by Hotta Studio and was initially released exclusively for China last year in December. The game was later released worldwide in August 2022 by Level Infinite and has since received a solid response from RPG fans around the world.

These are the five mobile titles that have been nominated by The Game Awards. The winners for all categories will be announced on 8^th December when the event goes live in Los Angeles, California.
