Indian esports platform, The Esports Club (TEC) has taken its first steps into the world of mobile esports as it announces the LG Ultragear TEC Invitational Season 1 for Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). This invite-only tournament will witness participation from India's top 20 teams while featuring a total prize pool of INR 5,00,000 ($6,722 USD). So far, not a lot of information about the tournament has been revealed, however, it seems that it might be taking place before the upcoming Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 - the first official BGMI esports tournament to have ever taken place.

TEC Invitational Season 1 announced for Battlegrounds Mobile India

The Esports Club has finally decided to dip its toes in the mobile esports scene as it comes forward with its first-ever tournament focused on the mobile game title, BGMI.

The TEC Invitational Season 1 might not have a date attached to it yet, but we can expect to witness some top class action from this tournament as India's top 20 teams are set to feature in this invite-only competition.

This tournament will be featuring a total prize pool of INR 5,00,000 ($6,722 USD), and will motivate the participants further to give it their best shot.

Though the prize pool breakdown has not been officially announced so far, reports from Gamzo claims that it might be distributed as follows between the participating teams,

  • 1st - INR 3,00,000 (4,036 USD)

  • 2nd - INR 1,50,000 (2,018 USD)

  • 3rd - INR 50,000 (673 USD)

Also, this tournament might be taking place before the upcoming Battlegounds Mobile India Series 2021, acting as practice tournament for all the top teams to access each other, try out their game plans, and take crucial notes.

In a statement to Gamzo, Ishaan Arya - Co-Founder of TEC said that,

We felt this was the right time to enter the mobile ecosystem with our first BGMI event with others in the pipeline as well. With regards to going beyond BGMI, it's too early to say but we're always experimenting and evaluating the best options for expansion.
