Team Soul's Participation in PMWI is Yet to be Confirmed
Team Soul's coach Amit "SoulAmit" Dubey has revealed the tentative date of confirmation on Soul's participation in PMWI 2022.
Battlegrounds Mobile India’s (BGMI) ban has not just affected the game's esports scene but has also begun affecting PUBG Mobile Esports. When it was all set for Team Soul to represent India at the PUBG Mobile World Invitational 2022, the BGMI ban halted their preparations for the tournament. As a result, the participation of Team Soul in PMWI 2022 is yet to be confirmed by the Krafton officials. In June 2022, Team Soul became the champions of Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series 2022 and booked its slot for the biggest PUBG Mobile event of 2022, the PUBG Mobile World Invitational.
Team Soul’s coach reveals that officials are yet to make a decision on PMWI participation
PUBG Mobile World Invitational is set to begin on 11 August 2022, however, Team Soul’s participation in the tournament is waiting for Krafton’s approval. Team Soul coach Amit “SoulAmit” Dubey, in a recent livestream said that the confirmation on Team Soul’s participation in PMWI would only arrive on the 7th or 8th of August. He said that it would be a last-minute decision for the officials, as BGMI is banned in India.
Amit further mentioned that some people are continuously spamming that Team Soul is not practicing for the PUBG Mobile World Invitational. He assured fans that since PUBG Mobile is not available in the country, the team is grinding hard on BGMI and regularly participating in scrims.
“The preparation of PMWI is going well behind the scenes. Other things like studying rotations of the global teams and making strategies against them are something that can’t be discussed publicly on the stream,” said Amit.
Team Soul has been one of the most consistent BGMI teams in 2022. Apart from BGMI Showdown 2022, the team has dominated almost every major BGMI tournament. In the grand finals of Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series 2022, Team Soul displayed sheer dominance and grabbed the first position in the overall standings right from Day 1 and continued to hang there till the last match of the tournament. Harsh “Goblin” Paudwal became the MVP by securing a total of 71 finishes, which is roughly 42% of all finishes taken by the team.
In the recently held BGMI Masters Series 2022, Team Soul remained in contention for becoming the champions of the tournament till Day 3 of the grand finals, however, the team failed to carry the momentum for the rest of the tournament and ended on the sixth position.
With BGMI being banned in India, it would be interesting to see whether Krafton would allow Team Soul to participate in the PUBG Mobile World Invitational 2022, or not.
