Team SMG Announces MPL MY Season 8 Roster

One of the invited teams for the upcoming Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Malaysia (MY) Season 8, Team SMG, has revealed its team roster. New faces have joined the team who were discovered in various tournaments such as the Mohamad “XpDEA” Harith Aiman from the NESCAFÉ Community Cup, and Low “Deto” Siew Meng from the Team SMG MLBB Recruitment. Team SMG had a rough run in the MPL MY Season 7 where they were beaten by Geek Fam in their first match in the playoffs, resulting in an early exit. The new roster will be gunning for better performance at MPL MY Season 8.

Team SMG Reveals MPL MY Season 8 Roster

The full roster has been revealed through the organization’s official social media handles on 4th August 2021. The short video reveals returning players as well as new recruits for the team.

The team is comprised of the following members;

• Lu “SaSa” Khai Bean (Captain)

• Muhammad “ZAIMSEMPOI” Zaim

• Aeliff “Smooth” Adam

• Saw “Loong” Kee Loong

• Low “Deto” Siew Meng

• Syed “SyF” Naufal

• Mohamad “XpDEA” Harith Aiman

• Muhammad “Myzer” Hakim Mikha

• James “Jamesss” Chen (Coach)

The new recruit Deto is a rookie that will be showcasing his talent in the upcoming MPL Season. Meanwhile, XpDEA and SyF got noticed at by the org at the NESCAFÉ Community Cup.

ZAIMSEMPOI, Loong, and Smooth are returning veteran players for Team SMG in the upcoming MPL MY Season 8.

Lu “SaSa” Khai Bean is a former ONIC Esports pro player, the team that dominated and claimed the championship title in the Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2019. The ML pro player is back as the team captain of Team SMG and will lead the team in the upcoming MPL MY Season 8.

About Team SMG

Team SMG is a Singaporean eports organization that was founded by popular Singaporean singer Lim Jun Jie (Widely known as JJ Lin). The organization handles teams from various esports titles such as DOTA 2, PUBG, Valorant, and Mobile Legends.

The Mobile Legends team's performance in the previous MPL seasons have been subpar, securing 7th-8th place in MPL Seasons 3, 4, and 5. Despite this, the organization continues to strive and improve in the Mobile Legends esports scene with no signs of stopping anytime soon.

It will be interesting to see if Team SMG will be able to take the championship title in the upcoming MPL MY Season 8 with the help of its new roster.
