Sylveon Receives Nerf Shortly After Release in Pokémon UNITE
The most recently released Pokemon, Sylveon, will be receiving a nerf two days after its arrival in Pokémon UNITE. The announcement was made through the official social media handles of the mobile MOBA title. Two of Sylveon’s moves in Pokemon UNITE - Hyper Voice and Mystical Fire’s damage will be decreased due to it being too overwhelming in matches. The balance patch for Sylveon in Pokemon UNITE is scheduled to be released on 8th Oct 2021 at 12:00 AM (PT). In the meantime, fans can continue to play Pokémon UNITE as usual until the balance patch update gets released as per the scheduled date and time.
Sylveon gets nerfed after just two days into its release in Pokémon UNITE
title was first introduced on 6th Oct 2021. Sylveon arrived and is currently considered as the most expensive Pokemon to unlock, costing 10,000 Aeos Coins or 575 Aeos Gems.
The new Fairy-type Pokemon quickly gained popularity due to how well it performs in matches. However, TiMi Studios thought that Sylveon may have been overperforming in matches and needs a slight nerf.
A nerf is set to be implemented later on 8th Oct 2021 at 12:00 AM (PT) to reduce Sylveon’s overwhelming presence in the game to maintain a healthy competitive environment for all players. The small balance update may need to be downloaded once it gets deployed before players can continue playing the game.
Both Hyper Voice and Mystical Fire will receive slight damage decreases to keep Sylveon on par with all the other Pokemon in the game.
This nerf was expected by a few fans but most players consider this nerf to be unnecessary, given that Lucario and Venusaur, two of the most powerful Pokemon in-game, are yet to receive a balance update.
Eevee is quite iconic in the overall game franchise. People had been looking forward to the release of this Pokemon and considering Sylveon is the first of the eight Eeveelution pokemon to be released in Pokemon UNITE, it is no surprise that Sylveon is a very popular Pokemon in the mobile MOBA title.
As Eevee, its abilities are pretty straightforward and easy to maneuver. However, everything gets interesting once Eevee evolves to Sylveon at level 4 when depending on your playstyle and strategy. Its abilities mainly focus on amplifying its own stats while also having the option to have slight regenerative abilities to increase its survivability in team fights.
Popularity aside, it will be interesting to see if Sylveon is able to retain its viability in Pokémon UNITE for the current meta after the balance patch is implemented.
