Spero Shares His Thoughts on the Potential Return of Free Fire and BGMI
As the Indian gaming community eagerly awaits the return of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) and Free Fire, Indian esports caster Piyush “Spero” Bathla has shed some light on the potential return of these suspended games. Spero expressed his belief that Free Fire will not return to India as the game developers are showing no effort. As for BGMI, despite his sources providing him with positive news, Spero stated that uncertainty still looms over the exact date of the game’s return.
Spero claims there’s positivity in Krafton regarding BGMI’s return
In a recent livestream, Spero discussed the recently emerged report that suggests that BGMI could potentially return to India with gameplay changes and time restrictions. According to the report, the government of India has decided to lift the ban on the game for three months.
Speaking on the matter, Spero stated no one knows when the game will return. However, he added that his sources had informed him that everything at the upper circuit was going well. By “upper circuit,” Spero meant the “financial circuit” of Krafton, which was out of his reach. He emphasized that there is a lot of positivity there, indicating that the game’s return could be potentially imminent.
Despite the encouraging news from his sources, Spero acknowledged that nothing is certain yet. He remained unsure of the exact timeline for the game’s return and urged the community to be patient. “That is what I know from my sources, but let’s see,” he said.
Spero believes Free Fire will not return to India
A viewer told Spero that with the positive news surrounding the potential return of BGMI and no update regarding Free Fire, Free Fire players might switch to BGMI upon its return. Spero replied, “I don’t know whether Free Fire’s players will switch to BGMI or not.”
However, he added that there is no positive news from the Free Fire developer Garena about the game’s return, and he expressed his belief that the game is not coming back. “They are not even trying to get the game back. That’s what I feel,” he added.
Although there have been some recent developments about BGMI’s potential return, Garena has remained tight-lipped about Free Fire’s potential return. Like Spero, the Indian esports organization Orangutan Gaming also believes that the game will not make a comeback to the country, owing to the lack of efforts by the game’s developers. Hence, the organization has decided to change its region for its Free Fire roster.
