Esports organization, Sentinels announced its entry into League of Legends: Wild Rift as part of a partnership with Riot Games. The organization is currently looking for potential players who want to join its roster which will compete in North America. There is a questionnaire available that players can fill out if they want to be a part of the future roster. Candidates’ entries will be screened after they fill up the Google Docs questionnaire and Sentinels will reach out to potential players. TSM and Cloud9 are also entering Wild Rift esports as Riot Games is aggressively marketing its mobile-only MOBA as a competitive esport, similar to League of Legends and Valorant which have been widely successful.
The Wild Rift roster will be Sentinels’ second roster in a Riot Games title
Following the wild success of its Valorant roster, Sentinels seeks to expand to Wild Rift and compete in the mobile esports title. Earlier this year, TSM and Cloud9 announced its entry to Wild Rift. TSM signed a Brazilian roster and the official announcement was made earlier this week at the Summoner Series’ first qualifier.
Wild Rift esports is already booming in Asia and Riot Games wants to expand its presence in North America as well, with the $50,000 USD Summoner Series. The first qualifier concluded recently with Tribe Gaming taking the win. There will be multiple circuits leading up to the main event and Sentinels still has time to field a brand-new roster and start competing in Riot Games’ newest mobile esport. The North American organization will be looking to emulate its success in Valorant at Wild Rift’s regional championship later this year.
Sentinels also has the opportunity to become both the Valorant world champions and the winner of the first-ever Wild Rift World Championship this year. Its Valorant roster has already competed for the Valorant Champions playoffs and it remains to be seen if its Wild Rift roster can live up to fan expectations. Sentinels is yet to announce by when it seeks to field its first-ever Wild Rift roster but we can expect to hear more from the organization before the second regional qualifiers start later this year.
