Skylightz Gaming’s professional BGMI player Saumraj showed optimism about BGMI’s return in his recent livestream.
The professional player stated that the game might not return this year, but mostly next year.

Skylightz Gaming’s professional Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) player Saumya “Saumraj” Raj was recently doing a “let’s talk” session on his YouTube channel, where he was chatting with his audience and answering their questions. During this live session, a lot of his viewers asked him if there was any update regarding BGMI’s return. Responding to the query, he said that he has been getting a positive response about the game lately but does not expect the game to return this year.

Saumraj stated that BGMI would return mostly next year

Saumraj has been proactive about BGMI’s return since it was made unavailable in the country. He has frequently been updating his audience about the game’s status ever since. Furthermore, he was among the first creators who revealed that the game might be released early next year.

In a recent livestream, Saumraj claimed that all the recent positive leaks about the game are not rumors and are indeed true. “All the recent leaks are not rumors. Everything related to the game is positive, and we have been getting positive responses about the game” he said. Following this, he added, “The game will not come this year, but it will return mostly next year.”

According to the claims made by Saumraj so far, BGMI might return early next year but with an “Indian publisher,” possibly Jio or Airtel.

BGMI was removed from the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store on 28th July. Although it has been over three months since the game’s removal, there has been no official announcement from the involved authorities aside from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s (MeitY) confirmation, which states that the game is blocked under Section 69A of the IT Act, 2000.

Although there is no solid announcement, BGMI’s return seems likely for the time being. Yash Bhanushali, founder of Orangutan Gaming, tweeted that some good news related to Indian esports is coming soon and welcomed back BGMI and Free Fire. Furthermore, a lot of creators and popular personalities from the Indian gaming community have recently claimed that the game might return early next year, including the creators that refrain from spreading rumors.
