Nexplay EVOS’ former star rookie Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya is looking to join Z4 Esports, a new team established by Omega Esports pro player Billy “Z4pnu” Alfonso. Due to the massive roster changes made by Nexplay EVOS, Sanford and Jhonwin “Hesa” Vergara will not be a part of the team roster for the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines (PH) Season 9. According to Z4pnu, Sanford contacted him asking if he could apply for tryouts at his new team, Z4 Esports. The Omega Esports pro players also posted a teaser of a mystery player joining the new team, which fans speculated to be Sanford himself.

Sanford to join Z4 Esports, according to Z4pnu

Following the roster revamp of Nexplay EVOS, the team’s promising rookie may be joining another team instead of being sent to the Mobile Legends Development League (MDL) division of Nexplay EVOS.

This was revealed through a vlog made by Omega Esports’ veteran player Z4pnu, revealing that Sanford reached out to him asking if he and Jhonwin “Hesa” Vergara could join Z4 Esports.

“Sanford messaged me because his team recently disbanded,” stated Z4pnu. “He said ‘Billy, can I join the tryouts for Z4 Esports?’ then I said he can.”

Nexplay EVOS recently disbanded its sister-team Nexplay 2.0, a team where Sanford was temporarily staying. This compelled the pro player to start scouting for opportunities elsewhere as Nexplay EVOS is yet to finalize its MDL team roster.

Z4pnu added that there are three former Nexplay 2.0 players who are looking to join Z4 Esports. These are Sanford, Hesa, and RYU. The pro player added that another Nexplay pro player Jeff “S4gitnu” Subang is also looking to join Z4 Esports.

“I’m torn between recruiting Sanford or Sagitnu,” stated Z4pnu.

A teaser was also posted on 16th Nov 2021 showing the silhouette of an upcoming pro player at Z4 Esports. Fans were quick to speculate that this pro player is Sanford.

However, Z4pnu is yet to reveal the full roster of his newly established team, Z4 Esports. Fans will have to keep their eyes peeled for upcoming updates.

The MPL PH Season 9 journey for Z4 Esports is still unclear

According to Z4pnu, he contacted Moonton to ask whether more slots would open for the next season of the MPL PH. Moonton responded that it is still undecided on whether there is a new slot that will open for next season.

“I spoke with Moonton and they said it’s gonna be hard to secure a franchise next season,” stated Z4pnu. “If we can secure a franchise, we go for a franchise. If not, it (Z4 Esports) will be a training ground for aspiring pro players.”

He added that if an amateur pro player from Z4 Esports starts performing well, they have a higher chance of being recruited by Omega Esports.

It will be interesting to see who will join Z4pnu’s new esports team, Z4 Esports.
