Two of Nexplay EVOS’s promising rookies, Jhonwin “Hesa” Vergara and Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya may be drafted to the team’s Mobile Legends Development League (MDL) roster. This was revealed by the team’s veteran player Setsuna "Dogie" Ignacio through one of his vlogs. According to the pro player, Nexplay EVOS’ lineup for the upcoming Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) Philippines (PH) Season 9 is close to being finalized. However, while three of the pro players have been revealed, Dogie won’t be revealing the remaining seven members just yet. He also added that Tristan "Yawi" Cabrera will no longer be playing for Nexplay EVOS in the MPL PH Season 9.
Nexplay EVOS underwent massive roster changes with only three players remaining from its previous roster
Through a vlog post, Dogie revealed that his team made several changes to its roster in preparation for the upcoming MPL season. The pro player added that the two fan-favorite rookies will have to take a break from the MPL and hone their skills in Nexplay EVOS’s MDL team.
Dogie also mentioned that only Renejay "RENEJAY" Barcarse, Jhon "H2wo" Salonga, and Jeniel "YellyHaze" Bata-Anon remain from the previous lineup. The team will be welcoming seven new players to its roster and they will be revealed soon.
“So H2(H2wo), RENEJAY, Haze (YellyHaze) will stay, the other two will be a secret and the other five, also a secret,” stated Dogie.
The veteran player also added that the team roster is final and the team is simply waiting for the players to arrive in the boot camp and start practicing. Nexplay EVOS’ head coach John Michael “Zico” Dizon added that fans can look forward to the big reveal soon.
“It’s all complete, just stay tuned for when the full roster will be revealed,” stated Zico.
Yawi will not be playing for Nexplay EVOS next season
Later in the vlog, Dogie also mentioned that one of Nexplay EVOS’ star players Tristan "Yawi" Cabrera will not be on the main roster for the upcoming MPL PH Season 9. According to the pro player, Yawi is still deciding on whether to leave the team and participate in the upcoming MPL season or stay in the team and get benched.
Dogie explained that since the team roster for Nexplay EVOS is completed, Yawi won’t be able to play in the tournament for the next season if he wishes to stay on the team.
“The time he said that he wants to transfer to another team, we immediately scouted for players,” stated Dogie.
Dogie further mentioned that it would be unfair to the new players if they get benched just because Yawi chose to stay and play in the MPL PH Season 9. This is why Dogie suggested that Yawi should leave Nexplay EVOS and join other teams instead.
It will be interesting to see who will be the new faces of Nexplay EVOS' lineup in the upcoming MPL PH Season 9.
