RSG PH secured a clean sweep victory against Nexplay EVOS in the fifth week of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Professional League (MPL) Philippines (PH) Season 9. Nexplay EVOS tried its best to turn the tides in its favor with a crucial Lord steal by Michael "MP the King" Endino. However, RSG PH remained at the top of its game and kept its momentum going to finish with a clean sweep victory. The post-match interview also revealed that TikTok may be one of the social media platforms that can provide a lot of tips and tricks on how to play MLBB.
RSG PH secures second sweep against Nexplay EVOS
RSG PH dominated the first game of the series thanks to the accurate hooks from Dylan "Light" Aaron Catipon’s Franco. With a mix of heavy magic and physical damage from Eman "EMANN" Sangco’s Beatrix and Dexter "Exort" Martinez’s Eudora, Nexplay EVOS was not able to match up with RSG PH’s damage output. Each hook by Light opened up potential skirmishes for Jonard “Demonkite” Cedrix Caranto’s Lancelot to spearhead RSG PH into battle. RSG PH won the first game with a successful start to the series.
Nexplay EVOS switched John "H2wo" Paul Salonga and drafted its amateur standout, MP the King in the second game. A crucial Lord steal by MP the King at the 13-minute mark bought Nexplay EVOS enough time to regroup. However, RSG PH’s momentum kept on rising as Light’s Silvanna prevented Nexplay EVOS from opening opportunities to pick off core heroes. Despite desperate attempts from MP the King to carry Nexplay EVOS and turn the tides, RSG PH remained dominant throughout the series and finished with a clean sweep victory.
Exort learned a lot from TikTok
Through a post-match interview, RSG PH’s Exort revealed that the sudden lineup switch by Nexplay EVOS did not surprise the team.
“When we learned that H2wo was out and MP (MP the King) would be playing, we immediately discussed who to ban and draft,” Exhort said. “We know their comfort picks so it’s easy for us to adjust.”
In response to a community question about the burst combo that Exort showcased during the second game, the pro player explained that it was all thanks to the social media platform, TikTok where t he was able to learn a lot of MLBB tricks.
“I just saw it on TikTok. For me, you’ll learn a lot from TikTok,” said Exort.
The pro player also gave a quick update regarding RSG PH’s mid laner, Arvie "Aqua" Antonio, who got sick last week and could not compete. According to Exort the mid laner is now doing fine and may be back soon in the MPL PH Season 9.
RSG PH remains in the third spot on the regular season leaderboards. With its one and only match for this week concluded, RGS PH is set to go up against Bren Esports next week on 25th March.
