RRQ Hoshi Releases Hide From Its Wild Rift Roster

The League of Legends: Wild Rift team of Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ) Philippines (PH) announced the release of its Baron Laner Sean "Hide" Baguino. The pro player was with RRQ Hoshi since June. He helped the team secure first place in various tournaments such as the Snapdragon Pro Series 2022 - MSP (Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines) Open Finals and the Wild Circuit Asian Invitational 2022. However, the team had a huge upset in the Wild Circuit Asia Open 2022 where it only finished 7th place after losing against EVOS Esports. Shortly after the team was eliminated from the tournament, RRQ bid farewell to its Baron Laner Hide. 

Baron Laner Hide departs from RRQ PH Wild Rift squad

RRQ PH announced the departure of Hide from its Wild Rift roster through a Facebook post. He played as the team’s Baron laner before he was released on 5th December.

“Farewell to you brother! We Thank you for your dedication and hard work for the Team RRQ. We wish you nothing but the best on your next journey! Good luck!” RRQ PH captioned.

RRQ PH had a rough esports journey this year. The team finished first place in the Wild Rift Champions Southeast Asia (SEA) 2022 - Philippines qualifiers, locking its spot in the main qualifiers event. While the team only finished third place in the SEA qualifiers, RRQ PH was able to impress the fans as it almost finished a cinderella run in the Icons Global Championship 2022. Despite its dominant starting performance, the team only finished 6th place in the world series event.

The team continued to show promise in various Wild Rift esports tournaments. However, it had a rough performance as it finished 3rd place in the Snapdragon Pro Series 2022 APAC (Asia Pacific). The team’s performance worsened and in the Wild Circuit Asia Open 2022 it only finished in 7th place. 

It will be interesting to see if RRQ PH is able to recover from its lackluster performance and come back stronger for future Wild Rift esports tournaments.
