Riot Games accidentally reveals Lunar New Year Gwen skin during Wild Circuit Asia 2022
Fans briefly get a glimpse of one of the upcoming Lunar New Year skins in Wild Rift. Through a now edited post from Wild Rift Champions Southeast Asia (WCS) Philippines, Gwen was seen with an unreleased skin.
The post showed the pro player Prasittichai "Valdus" Jiadchat’s post-match MVP title after the first game between Nigma Galaxy and EVOS Thailand and the Gwen skin was a part of the infographic design.
The official WCS Philippines page shortly changed the image of the post but fans were able to take a screenshot before it was edited.
Fans speculate that the leaked skin was for the upcoming Lunar New Year skin which is released every Chinese new year. According to the dataminer ChowZ, Gwen’s leaked skin along with the other champions, Zoe, Caitlyn, Camille, and Seraphine, are likely to be released in the Wild Rift Patch 4.0 update in the first month of 2023.
The upcoming skins may also be Wild Rift exclusive skins similar to the recently released Lunar Beasts skins featuring Miss Fortune.
Players should take note that Riot Games is yet to confirm the release of the upcoming Lunar Year skins in Wild Rift. Fans should keep their eyes peeled for more updates in the future.
