Pokemon Unite is slowly picking up pace within India with more tournament organizers opting to include the mobile title as part of their events. The game recently featured as a part of Nostra Gaming Week along with three other titles. The tournament took place from 16th to 22nd January with a total prize pool of INR 1,00,000.

The grand finale of this tournament took place between two of the top teams from India, Revenant Esports and S8UL Esports. Both teams fought hard through both stages and went up against each other in an exciting best-of-five series.

Revenant Esports was able to outshine its opponents '3-1' to walk away as the champion, securing the beautiful trophy while also pocketing INR 50,000 in prize money.

Nostra is the revamped name of Glance's gaming division. Glance is an Indian artificial intelligence-based software company that delivers personalized content directly on the lock screens of smartphones.

The recently concluded Nostra Gaming Week was its first foray into the Indian esports scene featuring four different titles as part of this tournament - Pokemon Unite, New State Mobile, FIFA 23, and Valorant.

Pokemon Unite featured some top-notch action that took place over the course of an entire week from 16th to 22nd January between eight directly invited teams from across the country:

  1. Revenant Esports

  2. S8UL Esports

  3. Chemin Esports

  4. Gods Reign

  5. True Rippers Esports

  6. Marcos Gaming

  7. Enigma Gaming

  8. Uchiha

In the Group Stage, these teams were divided into two groups of four teams each, following a simple round-robin format where each match featured a best-of-three series and the top two teams from each group proceeded ahead to the Playoffs.

Group A

Group B

In the Playoffs, the four qualifying teams took on each other in a straightforward single-elimination bracket where every match featured a best-of-five series. Both Revenant and S8UL managed to win their semifinal matches against Marcos and True Rippers with a '3-1' scoreline.

The grand finale was a revenge match for Revenant, who wanted to get back at S8UL for the whitewash handed to them in the opening match of this tournament. Revenant got what it wanted in style and handed a dominating '3-1' defeat to S8UL and lifted the trophy high as the champion of Nostra Gaming Week Pokemon Unite.

Apart from Pokemon Unite, tournaments for three other titles, New State Mobile, Valorant, and FIFA 23, also ran during the course of this same week. However, not all the events were broadcasted live by Upthrust Esports, who were running the show on behalf of Nostra.

This was just the first event for Nostra and maybe we will get to see a better produced esports tournament from them in the year ahead.
