Nexplay EVOS explains as to why RENEJAY switched to the Exp lane during the MPL PH Season 8 Week 6.
According to Dogie, RENEJAY asked if he could go back to his former role.
The request was eventually accepted and RENEJAY went back to the Exp Plane, replacing Jeymz in the process.

During the sixth week of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines (PH) Season 8, fans noticed that Nexplay EVOS’ Renejay “RENEJAY” Barcarse returned to his former role which is the Exp Lane. This decision led to an improvement in the teams performance and they won two matches for the week. The team support player Setsuna "Dogie" Ignacio revealed that RENEJAY requested to return to his former role. After careful consideration, the team accepted the request, replacing James “Jeymz” Gloria in the Exp Lane with RENEJAY. The star rookie of Nexplay EVOS, Jhonwin “Hesa” Merced, was also deployed to complement RENEJAY’s aggressive playstyle.

Renejay returns to his former role as Nexplay EVOS’ Exp laner

Fans witnessed the epic comeback of Nexplay EVOS in the MPL PH Season 8 Week 6 as the team blazed through the week, scoring two wins and one loss. A major factor that helped the team recover from its disappointing run in the MPL PH Season 8 was the decision to move RENEJAY back to the Exp lane.

Through a post-match interview, after the match between Nexplay EVOS and TNC Pro Team, the three tacticians Dogie, Zico, and Neil “Midnight” De Guzman revealed the reason behind the role swap.

According to Dogie, RENEJAY asked if he could go back to his former role which is the Exp Lane. The request was eventually accepted and RENEJAY went back to the Exp Plane, replacing Jeymz in the process. To compensate for RENEJAY’s aggressive playstyle, Hesa was deployed in the Gold lane alongside Tristan "Yawi" Cabrera. The star rookie, Hesa, is known for his defensive playstyle.

“We tried Renejay (in the Exp Lane) because his playstyle is aggressive and Hesa plays safe. So, both of them are perfect in the side lanes,” stated Zico.

Zico also stated that the decision for the role swap was not particularly well received by the fans as it lead to Jeymz’s being absent from the matches for the MPL PH Season Week 6. The coach clarified that this was discussed by the whole team and the members accepted RENEJAY’s transition to the Exp lane.

“Some fans took this the wrong way because we had to replace Jeymz (with RENEJAY). They just have different playstyles and RENEJAY fits more on the Exp lane,” stated Zico.

Nexplay EVOS is set to open up the final week of the regular season of the MPL PH Season 8 with a match against RSG PH on 8th October 2021 at 6:00 PM (PHT). It will be interesting to see if the team can maintain its current momentum and secure a slot in the playoffs stage.
